Kudo England is the official governing body for Kudo — a modern Japanese martial art that combines striking, grappling, and philosophy — representing our athletes, coaches, and clubs across the country. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Vice President to join the Kudo England leadership team. This pivotal role will support the strategic development and delivery of Kudo across England, driving participation, supporting local branches, coordinating national events, and strengthening the community that underpins our sport.
1. Community Lead
Develop and implement initiatives to increase participation in Kudo across all age groups and regions.
Build partnerships with schools, community groups, and martial arts organisations.
Promote inclusivity and engagement within the Kudo England community.
2. Program Manager
Oversee planning and delivery of Kudo England events, seminars, and national competitions.
Work with local clubs and volunteers to ensure smooth logistics and high-quality experiences.
Manage event calendars, budgets, and post-event evaluations.
3. Officials Coordinator
Recruit, train, and support referees and judges across the organisation.
Establish development pathways and certification standards for officials.
Coordinate officials for all national-level events and support their ongoing education.
4. Branch Mentor
Support and mentor new and developing Kudo branches throughout England.
Provide guidance on governance, operations, and membership growth.
Encourage best practice sharing and collaboration among clubs.
Proven leadership or management experience within sport, martial arts, or community development.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, officials, and athletes.
Passion for growing martial arts and supporting others to succeed.
(Desirable) Background or active involvement in Kudo or similar combat sports.

Kudo England is seeking a Technical Director to lead the technical standards of the sport nationwide. This role oversees grading standards, instructor licensing, and rule enforcement, ensuring consistency and fairness across all levels.
The Technical Director will also liaise with international counterparts to align curriculum and grading practices, while supporting competition oversight and referee training with the Vice President..
As Technical Director, the responsibility towards supporting the national team extends far beyond tactical oversight. The role demands strategic leadership in developing long-term performance pathways, ensuring that players, coaches, and support staff have access to world-class resources, training environments, and innovation.
A Technical Director must foster collaboration between grassroots programs and elite structures, aligning talent identification with national objectives. They are accountable for implementing modern methodologies, analyzing performance data, and guiding coaching standards to maintain consistency across all levels.
Requirements
Experience in a senior position within a professional organisation.
Experience in instructor training and technical governance
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work with the senior leaders within the Federation to grow Kudo in England.
This is a pivotal role shaping the future of Kudo in England through excellence, integrity, and global collaboration.
Extensive experience in martial arst, with a proven track record of technical expertise.
Recognized grading level (e.g., black belt or equivalent senior rank).
Prior experience in instructor training, licensing, UK laws and governance.
Willingness to collaborate globally.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Integrity and fairness in decision-making.
Passion for martial arts and commitment to the growth of Kudo in England.
Ability to balance tradition with innovation.
