Mind on My Health... Mental and Physical.

So I am starting to feel a draw to reach for enlightenment. I want to quiet my mind, strengthen my will, master my body and develop my connections to truth and spirit.

I began to research Vedic Arts like yoga and mantra. They both rang true to me. I borrowed an audiobook on my Overdrive App from the CALS library called The Beginners Guide to Mantra by Thomas Ashley- Farrand. I really love how these short, clear explanations and powerful demonstrations draw you in and relax you into the knowledge and practice of Mantra. So I am on a mission to do my classic 40 day discipline with 108 mantras once in the morning and once in the evening.

And I've joined a 6:30 am Yoga class Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at Jim Dailey Fitness Center. On Tuesday and Thursday I'll do water aerobics. My daughter Lash is back for a bit and she's trying to move me over to a Keto diet. Well, that is just a bridge too far for me just yet. So I am in her prerequisite Keto class and she is full blast. Today was day one.

Why do we, Black folks especially, and folks in general, skitter away and cringe in a corner whenever someone suggests counseling or therapy?

May is Mental Health Month!

My personal reflections on my family, make me feel impotent. Not because I am judging them and I haven't been there. Because I have. I am. There. I just don't understand why we have all this opportunity in this country, in this world and we squander it for appearances, or faulty loyalties. Life. We only have the one. I'm not wasting my chance at PEACE.
