PAC is the official voice of parents for formal participation in school affairs and operates as a non-profit organization with no personal financial benefit.
The EXECUTIVE ensures that parents’ interests are represented and that good communication between home & school is maintained; COMMITTEES meet, plan, and coordinate with outside groups to The PAC meets once per month in the KSS Library; VOLUNTEERS give their time, energy, and skills to help fulfill the purpose of the council; PARENTS help provide direction and focus by communicating their concerns, questions, and hopes for their child's school experience.
PAC general meetings take place once per month — usually in the first week; however, PAC executive, committees, and volunteers work throughout the YEAR, and sometimes into the summer, to get things done.
Our meetings are typically held in the KSS Library, the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm.
The PAC’s primary mandates are to STRENGTHEN THE ROLE OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS in education and schooling and to foster their meaningful participation by communicating with parents, advising the school on parental views, encouraging co-operation between school and home, assisting parents in accessing the system, advocating on behalf of parents/students, organizing PAC activities and events, and encouraging the involvement of parents, students, and other community members.
Our BYLAWS & CONSTITUTION guide PAC's work in supporting student success. The constitution establishes our purpose and mandate, while the bylaws outline our operating structure, including membership roles, executive responsibilities, and decision-making processes. These documents ensure accountability and effective governance of our parent community.
Our meetings are follow the protocols laid out in ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER — the most widely used manual of parliamentary procedure for conducting meetings and making decisions as a group.
