Dr. Kwang-Hee Shin is the principal investigator of the laboratory. Dr. Shin is a tenured professor at the College of pharmacy, Kyungpook National University.
Dr. Shin is a registered pharmacist and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics.
Dr. Shin's professional career extends beyond clinical studies, translational research and data science. Dr. Shin has expertise in clinical trial design, pharmacometrics, pharmacometabolomics. Dr. Shin has expanded her research field to real world evidence and application of artificial intelligence to clinical drug evaluation.
She received her Master's degree in the Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics Laboratory at the College of Pharmacy, Kyungpook National University. She is currently a researcher at the New Drug Development Center of the Korea Drug Development Hub Foundation (K-MediHub), where she continues to advance her expertise in her research field.
Her Ph.D. research focuses on physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling and simulation to establish optimal dosage regimens for therapeutic optimization and personalized patient care.
She received her Master’s degree in the the Biochemistry Laboratory at the College of Pharmacy, Catholic University of Daegu. Her research mainly focuses on two fields. In pharmacometabolomics, she conducts metabolite profiling for biomarker discovery to elucidate interindividual variability in drug response.
In physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modeling , she focuses on antidepressants, integrating genetic variability in drug metabolism to design safer and more effective dosing strategies, particularly in pregnancy. Through these two lines of research, she contributes to therapeutic optimization and personalized treatment strategies.
In addition, she is currently engaged in the collection of clinical safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetic data for the development of an organoid–digital twin-integrated AI platform. She supports the design of clinical studies and contributes to more predictive and ethical drug development strategies.
He received his Master’s degree in the Toxicoproteomics Laboratory at the College of Pharmacy, Kyungpook National University. His research focuses on developing LC-MS/MS–based bioanalytical methods utilizing volumetric absorptive microsampling (VAMS) and on conducting untargeted metabolomics.
Through this work, he is establishing a novel analytical platform that enables precise and reproducible analysis from small sample volumes, while comprehensively investigating metabolic alterations associated with various diseases and drug responses. These studies aim to improve the accuracy of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and to contribute to the development of personalized therapeutic strategies tailored to individual metabolic characteristics.
He received his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Biosciences from Kyungpook National University. His current research areas are pharmacometabolomics and LC-MS–based bioanalysis.
In pharmacometabolomics, he conducts metabolite profiling and candidate biomarker discovery to elucidate interindividual variability in drug response and to identify predictive factors for therapeutic efficacy and safety. In particular, his research focuses on metabolite profiling and identifying biomarkers in patients with type 2 diabetes, with the goal of elucidating the mechanisms of endogenous metabolites.
He received his Bachelor’s degree in School of Life Science and Biotechnology from Kyungpook National University. His current research interest focuses on health and medical big data analysis. As part of this focus, he is conducting the collection of clinical safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetic data for the development of an organoid-digital twin-integrated AI platform.
