My Teaching Philosophy
In order for all students to grow academically, the whole child needs to be considered. Students need to feel comfortable and safe in order to take risks academically. Technology implementation using the Four C's, Social Emotional Learning, and providing technology safety support the whole child.
There are many factors to think about when creating an optimal learning environment for elementary learners. Utilizing theories like Latham and Locke’s Goal Theory, The Bioecological Systems Theory, and Sociocultural theory as well as elements from ADDIE’s instructional design model, an optimal learning environment has a good place to grow. These foundation theories and designs can help a teacher know what is best for her learning environment as well as her students. Having students’ lives, cultures, and backgrounds be a part of the environment is crucial to the success of said learning environment as well as allowing the educator to make professional decisions in the best interest of her learners.
