The Sisterhood of the Krokopeplos is, at all levels, open to mature people, of any sex, gender, orientation, or presentation. However, like most things, it's not for everyone. If you're uncomfortable identifying as a Sister, the Sisterhood of the Krokopeplos might not be right for you. However, you might choose to become a Friend of the Krokopeplos instead!
The Sisterhood is a monastic community; it is, among many other things, a family for those without nuclear families. If you don't want to be a monastic, then the Sisterhood of the Krokopeplos probably isn't right for you. HOWEVER, only Sworn Sisters are required to live as monastics, either alone or with their Sisters. Sarabaite Sisters may be married and have children. Although Sworn Sisters are mostly priestesses, this is not an order of priestesses, it is an order of nuns. You can read more about the vows here.
Sisters are encouraged to enjoy all mutually joyful forms of sex and love, whenever, however, and with whomever they choose. However, Sworn Sisters are not permitted to take vows that take precedence over their monastic vows, such as marriage. As we say "Sisters before misters!"
The primary relationship between Sisters is one of Sisterhood; romantic relationships between Sisters are frowned on, because of their tendency to destabilize Circles by "playing favorites" among Sisters.
The Sisterhood is a monastic order. Sisters are discouraged from entering into new marriages or having more children. However, married folks and those with children can become Sarabaite sisters. Sworn Sisters may not be married or raising young children; for most people, being a Sworn Sister is a "final chapter" after many years of being a Sarabaite.
When possible, Sisters are encouraged to live together with their Sisters in small communes called "Circles". The Sisterhood of the Krokopeplos is your family, and your primary loyalty in this life should be to the Goddess of the Krokopeplos, your own Circle, and to the Sisterhood at large.
