Inpatient Services
The SBL Behavioral Health Services inpatient unit combines a secure and confidential setting with access to a full range of services and comprehensive medical support provided by the Health Center. Group, individual and family therapy, as well as 24-hour nursing care are delivered by a multidisciplinary treatment team which consists of recreational therapists, social services and case management personnel, medical/psychiatric nurses and psychiatrists. The team meets daily to discuss and coordinate specific patient needs and progress. Involvement by the patient’s primary care physician and social service agency is encouraged as they play an important role in continued recovery upon discharge.

Effingham County Health Department/Effingham County Connections
ECC is a FREE early learning program for pregnant mothers and children 0-3 in Effingham County. Utilizes developmental learning activities, parenting information and family support at every visit. Families receive two personal visits per month. ECC also has an optional monthly family group event with parenting information, family activities, and giveaways. Montly playgroups and annual field trips twice a year. Children receive a free board book at every visit. Children in ECC also have developmental screenings, as well as hearing and vision screenings twice a year.
ECC also has five certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on staff to check car seat installation, help install cars seats, or provide car seats to families in need.
