Every athletic trainer at a high school partnered with Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine closely works with team physicians. While most injuries and conditions can be treated by the athletic trainer at the high school, there are some that may require advanced care. From providing comprehensive evaluations and ordering advanced imaging to arranging surgical consults and writing scripts for rehabilitation, the team physician assists the athletic trainer in coordinating the best care for the student-athletes.
Dr. Blauwet took on the role of King Philip's team physician in the Fall of 2016. She has helped hundreds of King Philip's student-athletes effectively manage and treat their injuries and return them as quickly and safely to participation as possible. In the Summer of 2022, she assumed the role of Chief Medical Officer for Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
Dr. Malik has been with working with King Philip since the Fall of 2022. When he joined the MGB Sports Medicine team, Dr. Malik provided a seamless transition in taking over sideline coverage duties from Dr. Blauwet.
