Koushik Ghorai

   Welcome to my homepage...

    I am Koushik Ghorai, a second-year Ph.D. research scholar in the Department of Physics at IIT Kanpur, India. After completing my masters, I stayed at the same institute for doctoral study under the supervision of Prof. Amit Kumar Agarwal.

   My research interest is broadly based on studying band geometry induced novel linear and nonlinear transport and optical phenomena in quantum materials. I also actively work on probing and manipulating the different degrees of freedom of Bloch carriers, such as spin, valley, and orbital magnetic moment.      Apart from academics, I am a sports enthusiast. I love clicking pictures, gardening, travel, listen to Indian classical music. Occasionally, I leave my impressions in drawing books. I share some of these with you on my Canvas page.
