My research interest is based on studying band geometry-induced novel linear and nonlinear transport and optical phenomena.
Some of the band geometric quantities include Berry curvature, orbital magnetic moment, quantum metric tensor, quantum metric dipole, Berry curvature dipole, Berry connection polarizability, etc. These quantities give rise to several intriguing phenomena, such as linear and nonlinear anomalous Hall effect, spin Hall effect, phonon Hall effect, magnon Hall effect, orbital Hall effect, Magnus Hall effect, optical Hall effect, photogalvanic effect, circular dichroism, higher harmonic generations, etc. A comprehensive understanding of band geometry unravels novel fundamental physics and facilitates the development in various fields, including electronics, spintronics, valleytronics, magnonics, and photonics.
