Ode to My Father

Week 1: CelebrityQuiz

This is a quiz game where you can see pictures of famous celebrities, athletes, and characters and guess their names. If you guess it right in a limited time, you get rewarded with snacks; if you don't guess it right, you lose your snacks. It can be played in groups v. groups.


Week 2 ~ Week 4: Watching 'Ode to My Father' (국제시장)

Students will watch a movie 'Ode to My Father (국제시장)' for 4 weeks and have short discussions & lectures about the movie.

  • Week 1: 1~18 minutes of watching a movie& general explanation of the setting.

Hungnam evacuation (흥남 철수 작전)

  • Week 2: 18~67 minutes of watching a movie & general explanation of setting with some questions and debates.

Week 5: Korean food/snacks + spelling music lyrics

  • Teachers are going to bring in traditional Korean snacks/food (something small) for the students to try during the class.

  • Basic Korean snacks like: Choco pie, pepero/pocky, etc.

  • The students need to perfectly write down 2-3 lines of lyrics of a selected song. Some hints are allowed.

  • The person who guessed all the lines correctly wins more snacks and food.

  • Teachers can prepare whiteboards and markers, or students can use their paper and pencil.

  • The music and lyrics should be selected beforehand.
