VOTER 411

Even if you don't vote for us, your constitutional right to vote in Atlasia is sacred. This page will give you all you need to know before you cast your ballot, even if it's not for Koopa/Battista.

Eligibility requirements

In order to cast your vote for President and House in Atlasia, you must:

  • Make at least eight (8) posts to the Talk Elections forum before the voting period starts.

  • Register as a voter in Atlasia in the "New Register Thread" at least seven (7) days before the voting period starts.

  • Not have your voting rights stripped as a result of a deregistration or a court verdict

How to cast your ballot

In order to vote, you list off the candidates on your ballot using numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) in order of your preference. You may vote for as few or as many candidates for a specific office as you may wish.

The voting period for the February 2021 election will start on Friday, February 19, 2021 at midnight (Eastern Standard Time). Do not vote before this period begins, or else your vote will not count. Afterwards, you have 72 hours to cast your ballot. Make sure to cast your ballot before Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 11:59pm (Eastern Standard Time) in order for your vote to count. You are not allowed to edit your ballot 20 minutes after you post it or later, however, you are allowed to edit before 20 minutes is reached. Edit your ballot with caution.

Elections for other offices

During the three-day election period, there are usually elections for other offices other than President and Vice President. On the same federal ballot as the presidential election, there will also be an election to select members for the next session of the House of Representatives. Like the presidential contest, you list the candidates in order from highest preference to lowest preference. There will also be a seperate regional ballot on a different thread that contains other optional elections. If you live in Lincoln or the South, you will be able to elect a Senator to serve in the Atlasian Senate. If you live in Frémont, you will be able to vote for Senator as well as the regional parliament and First Minister (aka Governor) for the region. All of these contests are held using the same voting method as the President and House.
