Konkow Valley Band of Maidu Indians Kimsu Ma'a Kojomk'awi Ma'a
We believe that Kodoyampa (worldmaker), made us in Koyomk'awi (Konkow Valley). Our community members descend from Unratified Treaty Signer Molayu (Gramps), Key-lo-lay (Gramps), Tome-ya-nem (Clarks), Yohema (Clarks) and the Johnson Family's.
Pre-Contact 9 Bands called what today is our Traditional Territory, home. These Bands Names are as follows: Kimsu, Nemsu, Lollipi, Toto, Konkau, C'eec'i, Semsawa, Pica and Wymi.
We have made strong partnerships with U.S. Forest Service (Plumas), Cal-Trans, DWR and many other Local, State Agencies.
We have successfully worked with Berry Creek Rancheria and Mechoopda Indian Tribe to receive and rebury ancestors and cultural items .
In 2003, we start our road to federal acknowledgment and in 2016 our petition was sent back for edits. We are currently working on a edited version.
