Who are we?

The George & Dianne Koehler Humanitarian Charity, founded by George and Dianne Koehler, is a philanthropic organization based in Austin, Texas. Established in 2022, the charity is dedicated to providing financial support to small, grassroots nonprofits across the United States, focusing on humanitarian aid and community upliftment.

George Koehler, a U.S. Army veteran and retired professional, and Dianne Koehler, a retired registered nurse and long-time nonprofit volunteer, co-founded the charity to address the needs of underserved communities. Their mission encompasses a broad spectrum of causes, including food insecurity, homelessness, support for survivors of domestic violence, assistance for veterans, aid for the elderly, and emergency educational support for college students. The charity emphasizes supporting smaller 501(c)(3) organizations that might be overlooked by larger funding entities, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most .

Beyond financial contributions, the Koehlers are actively involved in their community. They collaborate with partners to distribute shelf-stable food to homeless camps, shelters, and individuals facing job loss and economic losses. Their hands-on approach ensures that aid is not only provided but also effectively reaches those in dire circumstances.

Meaning of our logo

The hands represent giving to those in need, the different colored hearts represent all of the different types of people we help, the light and cheery pastel background represents the hope for a better life that we wish for our clients, and the hearts represent giving with love. Love for our fellow human beings is the choice that we make every day at our charity. In the way we treat others, in the way we speak to others, and when we choose to love, we hope to make the world a better place.

In choosing to love others through our contributions to those in need, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities. We become more compassionate, more understanding, and we make connections to the people around us. Helping those in need helps us as human beings stand up for what is right, our motto is “ helping hands - helping hearts” , and we operate our charity, as our motto further states, with “ honesty and integrity”.

Our Mission:

To help support charities financially that provide for the humanitarian needs of people. We believe that this will help to foster their dignity, health, and well-being, and recover from the difficult times they are experiencing.

Our Vision

Our vision prioritizes smaller charities that serve large rural and urban communities. These are often overlooked and underfunded, yet they play a vital role and have a meaningful impact within the communities they serve. We also feel that these charities, being much closer to their target group, are thereby better situated to care for their clients' needs on a more cost-effective basis. We are committed to thoughtful stewardship and careful evaluation, helping ensure that charitable resources are directed to organizations that demonstrate integrity, effectiveness, and compassion.
