A scholarship program for young researchers to be sent overseas has been established to promote international exchange with European partner institutions and other organizations involved in the JSPS Core-to-Core Program. The program aims to provide young researchers (including graduate students) in Japan who have been involved in JSPS projects on climate change research during warm periods with opportunities to acquire advanced scientific knowledge and international experience by participating in summer schools and other events held by the European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD). This scheme has two travel support programs: (A) Summer School Participation Travel Support and (B) Overseas Long-Term Stay Travel Support for conducting joint research at overseas core laboratories and other facilities, which will be established and implemented.
