Teacher Librarian : Key Roles and Skills in imparting learning in the school community
Personal Statement by Teacher Librarian
My name is Ambika Kapur, Teacher Librarian,at CIS (Bengaluru)
I celebrate my librarianship every day as a tour guide in an extensive information world and a teacher who supports literacy by providing the right information to the right user at the right time. Within best of my possibility, I try to become an interface between the information seeker and motivated user, believing that a library is a learning place and it has to be welcoming and open for the community. On the other hand, I work as a custodian to promote Academic Integrity in the school space, which is crucial to building an informed nation— empowering learners to become critical thinkers and skilled researchers that can affect the greater good. In my additional role in the school community, I like to challenge myself in exploring ingenious concepts in my domain, hence keeping a solid opinion in infusing equality, diversity, and inclusion practices that require complex problem-solving skills. With the support from the senior team, we designed a safe space (virtual or physical) where learning with fun and using appropriate technology regardless of race, gender, and disability can witness. So, to conclude my achievement, our library is built with compassion, empathy, love, diversity, inclusiveness, and equality to all in regards to avail the services and correct use of technology.
The designed website is to support the research and recreational reading practices for learners.
As researching is a big task and overwhelming to know where to start, this website will provide various sessions recording to evaluate their content for factual accuracy. The library website is offering multiple resources for the whole school community. Would you please make sure to use the Knowledge Centre's available resources for further support in reading and researching?
Please note: And it's a working website that will be updated regularly.
