Old English Student Society is a group of students who voluntarily spend their free time conjugating Old English verbs and translating obscure texts into Modern English; they also like to look through old sources in search of weird and fun facts about life in the Anglo-Saxon times.
They will introduce you to the Old English language, literature, culture, and terrible adaptations of Beowulf.
OESS members conduct their own research in the Anglo-Saxon studies on multiple levels; they go to conferences, talks, meetings.
(and pubs)
They are also the proud organizer of the annual Old English Student Conference and Old English Student Sessions twice a year.
