NCDs are some of the most dangerous health issues in Egypt and many other countries. They are driven by big risk factors which are: unhealthy lifestyle, physical inactivity, tobacco use, and other risk factors like pollution, lack of breastfeeding and poor nutrition. Diabetes, Cardiovascular diseases, cancers are some of the biggest health problems worldwide in both high or low income countries. Many medical students are aware of NCDs and how it’s treated, but not all of them know how they affect the public and global health. It’s our opportunity to initiate the policy decisions needed to reduce NCDs so we an tackle their burden. Here comes our role in educating the public about those issues, healthy lifestyle and disease prevention, but first we should learn how to transmit these messages to make a future doctor with the needed knowledge of to be an advocate for healthy living.

One of these goals is SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-Being” which aims to enable everyone to access care they need whenever needed without leaving no-one behind through investment in primary healthcare and health systems.
