HOW TO GROW A GOOD MARIJUANA STRAIN

[Music] strong like a tree there's roots where i stand hey guys matt here with mr canucks grow today's video is gonna be a sea to harvest summary on my recent 4x2 grow tent i'm going to condense a couple months of footage down into a 10 minute long summary that's gonna cover all the important details starting from seed and ending with the harvest so let's get going [Music] i'm starting this grow downstairs in my transplant pit i'm gonna grab some pure coco coir and i'm adding in some 444 all purpose slow release fertilizer from gaia green this is just a light amendment of food for when the seeds germinate and grow out of the seedling stage and into the early veg stages i have a smorgasbord of seeds to plant today mainly from square one genetics these are feminized seeds but i also have a strain called doji from ocean grown seeds these are normal regular seeds so they could end up male or female i'm planting the seeds directly into the medium and i'm giving them a bit of water and placing them in a dome under some light to sprout [Music] so [Music] after three long days most of the seeds have sprouted i'm gonna give them a spritz of water and hopefully in the next day or so the rest of the seeds will germinate and those picky shells will soften up and fall off [Music] it's now day nine and some of the ceilings are falling over probably from lack of airflow and perhaps light intensity after all the seedlings are off to the side of this 3x3 frame and the 200 watt spider farmer sf2000 it's set pretty damn far away i'm gonna prop each seedling up with this green rubber gardening wire also one of the cantaloupe hazes from dna genetics didn't germinate so not a 100 success but still not too shabby there is a lot of ground to cover so let's jump ahead to day 30.

The plants are in perfect health surviving off the small amount of food in the medium and today they probably should be transplanted but it's one of those weeks where the work is gonna have to wait for now i'm just placing them in my small closet under the es180v2 led [Music] so it's now close to day 50 and i'm easily two full weeks past the time i should have transplanted these plants went from perfectly healthy and green to this these plants are stressed root bound all yellow and extremely hungry i completely neglected them for a couple weeks because i had some stuff come up so it's day 50 and the plan is to throw everything i have at these girls and it all starts with adding in organic worm castings to some pure coco coir the castings are going to provide a full spectrum of food and microbes i'm going to add in a 50 50 ratio of 444 and 2a4 from gaia green and i figured i would put in more organic fertilizer on top of that like oyster shells for calcium kelp for potassium and other key minerals i even have some alfalfa meal i threw in which is rich in nitrogen and potassium the blends of gaia green already contain all these ingredients but these are organic inputs that the plants love so i'm gonna throw in some of that extra love because let's be honest i haven't been showing them any love in the last couple weeks i'm not gonna lie i was kind of scared to see the conditions of these roots they honestly don't look too bad but they are still on the root bound side i'm gonna prune the roots which will stunt them a bit but this will force the roots to grow outward into its new fresh medium and for a boost in root growth i'm using mycorrhizae i'm just gonna sprinkle it directly on the roots this fungi is incredible at making plants grow vigorously under stressful conditions i'm back upstairs and i'm gonna place these plants into my 4x2 gorilla grow tent [Music] and give them a drink of water using a ph range between six and six and a half a couple of the plants are looking a lot better than the others [Music] for now i'm leaving the es 300 v1 raised to over three feet away these plants will need a couple days to adjust from the transplanting but it really shouldn't take long to start seeing some serious improvements on these plants [Music] [Music] and just like that we're back in the game it only took 19 days from the transplant to transform these girls into very healthy green luscious plants [Music] and all of that magic is in the medium i've legit just watered when dry in the microbes and the slow release food in the medium did the rest now this is the first week of flower and i'm checking in on the doji plants i have from motion grown i'm hoping one of them ended up female and i think that expression means no dice [Music] [Music] so it's week three of flower and today i have a few chores to check off starting with some canopy maintenance i'm gonna defoliate and remove any leaves i think is blocking prime bud sites and i need to clear up the bottom skirts of each plant [Music] so after some tender loving care this 4x2 is looking pretty good the plants are gonna want some more food soon this is gonna be the final feeding.

These plants will have from now all the way until harvest time I'm gonna top dress with 2a4 bloom from gaia green and i'm adding in some organic worm [Music] castings [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] now i'll go over all the strains in here towards the end of the video but for now it's week five this is when the flowers start to put on a lot of size today i'm focusing on the light distance and making sure it's not too far away and it's not too close i have it set to about 12 to 14 inches from the canopy now this is the original es 300 v1 made back in dinosaur times 2017 now after using it for three whole years this beauty is gonna be retired after this run now it's week five a flower the plants have all their food for the rest of the run other than really having to water the plants when they are dry i can pretty much say this grow is on the cruise mode that setting if it okay in terms of heavy lifting there's not much to do until it's time to harvest but i will spend about a whole minute of my time with some selective defoliation during this middle week of flower this creates a better return come harvest time and it doesn't really take long to do so that is two things i can't complain about great typically during these middle weeks i pretty much try and walk away with a handful of leaves in my hand nothing [Music] but i'm crazy fly i'm still fly i know i'm still fly i'm still flying let's go okay it's now the middle of week eight and this is about the exact same time my five by five girl was finishing up so if you haven't seen that gross summary.

I will have a link at the top of this video's description so it's now the end of flower and each plant is packing a little weight [Music] and this canopy has pretty much every color you can think of purples reds yellows pinks whatever the heck this color is just a crazy amount of color [Music] this ocean fruit from square one genetics is bursting with reds and pink hues while this berries and estrogen gas otherwise known as bag is looking like some blueberry jam spread a lot of dark purples with blue tinges i have two phenos of this strain in here and the other pheno really had some heavy frost production in his genetics [Music] the midnight wave has the perfect combination of light yellows greens mixed in with some purples these are all from square one genetics but i did have one strain from dna genetics in here and it's like the most average looking one of the bunch and it's still like well above average it's looking pretty good a bad girl with a girl heart lost boys [Music] so it is time to harvest again and i always wake up super excited on a harvest day and well honestly i go to bed pretty miserable but this is a 4x2 which is considerably smaller than my other grows but after today i have to tackle my 5x5 tomorrow so this is like merely the start to a pretty darn busy couple days if you're brand new to the channel i have plenty of other videos that go way in depth into the basic fundamentals to harvesting drying trimming and curing so if you're new to the game want to know the basics when it comes time to harvest dry and cure your crops that video will be down below [Music] [Music] so after waiting for the plants to dry and giving the buds a very quick trim it was time to get closer look at the final results now this 4x2 run was more of a test run than anything else never grown these strains before so i figured i'd pop a couple of each strain and just see what they were all about now i've already been impressed with some of the other strains from square one genetics like the grape rock candy cross with banana buttercups that's an absolutely insane one but the tangarang and of course the gnarly banana buttercups.

I mean these are absolutely bonkers for strains that doesn't even make sense but you get it now i must say the ocean fruit and berries and estrogen gas really turned out to be some pretty high end phenoes too [Music] even the midnight wave was on the top tier of the quality spectrum but when i really just want to compare overall bag appeal to terp profile to the resin production god damn the square one genetic strains have been absolutely incredible now the cantaloupes from dna genetics turned out okay i was hoping for something different a little sweeter this one just seems to have a mild flavor profile i'm not gonna lie smoking some of the square one genetics the terps are absolutely ridiculous the smells are extremely strong so if you're a backyard smoker this is extremely loud wheat as in everyone will know which is a good thing right now this run was not about yield but for those interested the final weigh-in results was 260-ish grams of weed and jars for curing each plant weighed in between 40 and 60 grams [Music] the next video will be episode 2 of how to grow weed easy autoflower edition i will be bringing you up to date on that grow and diving into great detail on how to train autos for maximum yields [Applause] thanks for watching this full seed to harvest summary it ran longer than 10 minutes that's my bad hopefully you still enjoyed the whole video did you please like the video and subscribe if you're not currently thank you finally i want to thank my patreons for making this channel possible thank you so much for the incredible support and making this non advertiser friendly unmonetized channel a thing honestly it means a lot thanks for growing with me and i'll talk to you in the comments [Music] i'm still fly i know i'm still fly i'm still flying let's go
