(Hopefully temporarily, I am unable to function in normal working capacities physically due to chronic abdominal pain since July 2020, and verbally since September 2020, due to increased brain fog from the pain prescriptions effects added to brain fog experienced with diabetes as newly diagnosed.) (Also hopefully temporarily, diabetes II along with life-long rheumatoid arthritis and other physical and mental health concerns keeps me home in self-quarantine also for the survival of at least 2 family members who are also immunocompromised.)

Occupation(s): I am the founder and teacher of Klassy Music Studio in Kalispell. From the summer of 2014 through the summer of 2022, I served on a rotation of keyboard accompanists for worship at Eidsvold Lutheran Church (ELCA) in nearby Somers, MT. I am a retired public school music teacher of 19 years total as of 2020. This includes my most recent 10 years in Montana with some computer and P. E. teaching and 5 of those years also acting as a small rural school counselor. Prior to this, I have 6 years of music teaching experience in South Dakota with some computer teaching there as well, a prior year elsewhere in Northwest Montana also teaching music, and my first two career years in eastern Tennessee. During most of these years, and during the four years in between in which I did not teach music in public schools, I was serving in a bi-vocational church music ministry capacity at all possible levels in various churches in Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, South Dakota, and Montana.

Education: graduated in June 1997 from Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, TN, with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Music Education, Applied Keyboard Emphasis, Dual Certifications for Choral/Vocal/General and Instrumental (High School: Great Mills High, Great Mills, MD); currently paused in my work towards the distance/online Master of Education program for Curriculum and Instruction with Emphasis on a K-8 Elementary Education Certification at Montana State University, Billings, originally planned to graduate in May 2023; and have earned up to 81 total graduate semester hours through additional studies at Ihanktonwan Community College, Marty, SD with credit granted through Sinte Gleska University, Mission, SD, also Dakota Wesleyan University, Mitchell, SD, Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD, Northern State University, Aberdeen, SD, the University of Sioux Falls, Seattle Pacific University, Heritage Institute of Antioch University, Seattle, Washington, University of Montana, Missoula, University of North Dakota, Grand Forks; and Montana State University-Northern in Havre.

The newspaper story below is a good summary of my musical career up through late 2002, with just a few errors. First, I have very little actual marching experience as I played mallet percussion on the sidelines at games and marched with bells in parades. I actually graduated from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. My parents actually lived at that time in Lexington Park, Maryland, but my dad's parents both at that time did live in Rapid City, South Dakota. My dad directs a handbell choir, and once played percussion and still plays piano and organ by ear. My mother played flute which is indeed how my parents met in high school band.
