Submit a Proposal

We are no longer accepting proposals for 2024. Hold that thought and consider submitting to KLA Annual or to the 2025 Joint Spring Conference.

We need your presentations to make this conference a valuable event for our participants!

Our conference theme is Libraries as Cultural Hubs: Preserving History and Promoting Diversity. Libraries have long served as repositories of cultural heritage, champions of cultural diversity and inclusivity, and centers of local community engagement. Libraries play a key role in preserving and sharing unique cultural histories, supporting intellectual freedom and diversity, and leading the charge for free speech, and these are all things that we want to recognize and celebrate!

We are looking for proposals for presentations (45 minutes), lightning talks (10-15 minutes), and posters illustrating not only our conference theme, but also any other topic, initiative, and issue you want to share! We know you and your libraries are doing great work every day to preserve culture, promote diversity, and serve patrons in a variety of ways – this is a great opportunity to share your ideas and projects with colleagues across the state and region.

When and where?

The 2024 Joint Spring Conference is April 10-12, 2024, at beautiful Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg, KY.  Presentations will be scheduled for Thursday, April 11 and Friday, April 12. Posters will be available for display at our conference opening reception on Wednesday, April 10, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Also, for the first time the JSC will be offering the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)!

The proposal deadline is January 31, 2024.
