Kavita Kundal is a Ph.D. Scholar working under the prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF) scheme in Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, India. She received her Master of Engineering in Biotechnology and Medical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, Odisha, India and Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU) Gurdaspur, Punjab, India in 2021 and 2019 respectively.
Her present research interest lies in the field of Computational Biology, Cancer Genomics and Radiogenomics. She previously worked in Molecular Dynamics Simulation using Gromacs for desigining novel therapeutic peptides as a part of her Master thesis work. In wet-laboratory she worked in Recombinant protein production and purification using bacterial strains. As a part of her bachelor's project she tested antimicrobial activity of different plant species against onion mold i.e. Aspergillus Niger. She also gained skills in serotyping, Antimicrobial Susceptibililty testing, and Image processing. She has contributed scientific papers and book chapters in leading international journals. Her multifaceted experiences, ranging from wet-laboratory work to computational biology, underscore her adaptability and versatility in addressing diverse challenges in the field of biotechnology and medical engineering.
