Workshops and Projects Taught During Senior Year:
Being a part of the Technology Fellow program has allowed me to established a tool box of skills regarding technology and beyond. On a daily basis I have had to exhibit extraordinary customer service by utilizing patience with all who come in to see us, persistence towards every issue that may arise, and the ability to teach what I have learned to others so knowledge can be spread. Since starting in the fall of my sophomore year, I have seen myself using these skills in all aspects of my life such as with professors or in my professional life.
My day-to-day tasks as a Technology Fellow at the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) include answering phone calls and emails from faculty and staff about the different technologies that USD supports. I also help any faculty and staff that walks into the CTL during my shifts in the week. In addition, I teach or co-teach four-six workshops every semester. The workshops I have enjoyed teaching the most were Google Sites and D2L 1 because it allows for the participants to tailor the workshop to how they want to use the application individually. While teaching workshops I have been able to demonstrate my knowledge to the participants in a way that was both easy to understand and interesting to learn.
