It has been a pleasure being USD's Golden Key Honour Society's President this school year. This organization aims to recognize members for their hard work in community service and their academic achievements. This year the club did a blanket tying event in the fall where we tied 10 blankets for the Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. The club plans on doing a spring event where we hope to tie 15 blankets that will also be donated to the hospital.
I am extremely honored to have served as the Scholarship Director for the Alpha Rho chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. TEDxUSD is a sub-liscensee of TED Talks. As a Girl Scout for 14 years and a lifelong member, I completed my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards (the Gold Award is the highest award that is able to be earned as a Girl Scout) that bettered my community. I also organized and put on camps that taught younger girls import life lessons and skills such as first aide and self confidence. My Gold Award project, created a year long supply of transitional care package for kids entering the Foster Care Program for a three county area. These care packages provided the basic necessities for children and age appropriate activities/comfort items. My project was picked up by several churches and other troops to continue the support effort.
Three years ago I organized, and led a non-school sponsored mission trip, which recruited 100+ students, and raised enough money to package 5,000+ meals to feed starving children all over the world at Feed My Starving Children Center in Eagan, MN. My team set a new production assembly record for this international food relief program.
During my high school career I volunteered 400+ hours as a part of the Serve And Learn Student Association. As a leader my last two years, I had the privilege to serve with many organizations in the local area and created events that at which my fellow community members and I could give back. Some of my favorite events that I have personally led have included a winter clothing drive for underprivileged youth, serving at the local food mission, providing support staff for annual JDRF walk, and environmental clean up.

In this spring of 2015 I was selected to participate in the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists conference in Boston, MA in the summer of 2015. Once there I was able to apply, and was selected for, the "Ultimate Medical Internship" in Ahmedabad, India. While in Ahmedabad in the summer of 2016 I got to observe medical procedures up close and learn first-hand what the health care is like in a developing country such as India.
