My personal mission is to better myself, my family, my community, and my world. I try to execute these goals in my every day life through my thoughts, words, and actions. Whether it is regularly working out at the rock climbing wall, volunteering at the local nursing home, or traveling to a developing country to build a house for an impoverished family, I live by my mission.
As I am in my last semester of undergraduate studies, I am very excited to be receiving my Bachelors of Science degree degree in Medical Biology on May 4, 2019. The classes, although challenging, have ignited my curiosity and passion to becoming a doctor. Now, as an accepted medical student at USD's Sanford School of medicine, I look forward to making my dream a reality. In the years to come I will continue to learn and grow in my knowledge of medicine as medicine is an area that will continue to change; I am ready to embrace the change.
My long term goal is to become a family practice physician or an obstetrics/gynecologist. Both careers bring their own unique challenges and I love the fact that there is a problem to be solved and through math, chemistry, psychology, and many other variables, there is a solution for every individual. I will utilize every opportunity to leverage the education in and out of the classroom to better myself and identify the role that will best use my talents to serve others. Regardless of my specialty, I will strive to be the best at my chosen field and use my skills to enhance the healthcare profession. Also, I plan to participate in medical mission work. Whether on a South Dakota Indian Reservation, an under-served community in the United States, or other areas of the world, my passion for travel and healing others will help serve mankind.
