Unit 6 Reflection

What stood out to me

Unit 6 was how powerful databases are in organizing, protecting, and connecting information. I didn’t realize how much work goes into keeping data accurate, consistent, and accessible until I learned about things like data redundancy, data accuracy, and relational databases. 

What surprised me the most

It surprised me how easily information can become messy or duplicated when there isn’t a proper database system in place, and how much smoother everything runs when data is stored correctly. But it make sense to me if nothing organized. 

My future Career 🩺🩻 

What connected with me most was how this relates to my future career in radiology. Radiology relies on accurate patient data, and even small inconsistencies can lead to serious mistakes. Learning about databases helped me understand how systems like PACS and electronic health records keep everything organized. It made me realize that behind every X‑ray or MRI, a database is making sure the right patient and the right scan are matched correctly. Knowing how data flows and stays accurate will be important when I’m working with imaging systems and patient records.
