At OSCAR we offer before and after school care along with school holiday programmes.
Our building is located next door to Kiwi Clubhouse.
The care and safety of your child is our number one priority. We aim to provide a fun, stimulating and structured environment for your child, where they will build positive relationships with their peers and kaiako.
We are proud to offer an out-of-school programme that exceeds your child's needs!
At OSCAR our ratios alter depending on the activity or excursion to ensure the tamariki are safe and well cared for. Our programme ratio is 1:10. Approved off site excursions require a lesser ratio of 1:8, if the excursion includes swimming we then provide a 1:6 ratio.
Hours of Operation:
Before school care
7:30 am - 8:30 am
After school care
3 pm - 5:30 pm
School Holiday Programme
7:30 am - 5:30 pm
OSCAR Transport
We offer a transport service to and from a range of Hāwera schools including; Turuturu, St Josephs and Tawhiti.
If your child attends Hāwera Primary School they will be walked to and collected from school by staff member.
We recommend a few visits to OSCAR before your child starts, those few visits will include; experiencing different routines such as bus pick up and drop off, roll call and meeting all of the teachers and other children.
We have a buddy system at OSCAR for new children, this is when an older child will pair up with your child to help make a smooth transition into OSCAR.
If your child attends Kiwi Clubhouse and will be attending the OSCAR programme, the centre teachers will bring your child over for transition visits before they start at OSCAR.

The easiest way to enroll your child is to contact our Office Administrator, Melissa.
OSCAR is a very popular service, we recommend contacting us straight away to get your child booked in or added to our waiting list.
