English Asakatsu Days 1 - 20
Day 1 - 【STUDY】 I've started studying English. Channel Greeting Ver【Kishido Temma/Holostars】
By Umbrella's Chainsaw
OHAKISHIIII
Today is the first day of Temma’s English Studies! For the first lesson, he’s going to make a greeting for his channel! He mentions that there’s a lot more overseas viewers in chat, most likely due to the timeslot and the content of the stream. He opens up CSP and explains that he’ll use this to take notes. But immediately after, decides to physically write down his notes. The first bullet he puts down is “Channel Greeting”. That said, he busts out his best English with, “Hello Everyone! Konkishi! Welcome to my channel! Welcome to Kishido Temma channel!!”
After that, he repeats his usual intro in Japanese, wondering how to phrase it in English. He then asks about the difference between Everyone and Everybody, he’s informed they’re the same. He thinks over what he wants to do for his intro before repeating parts in English. He wonders if he should say “Temma Kishido” or “Kishido Temma” because of the different order in English. He uses Astel’s name as reference, not immediately realizing that Astel’s name is already in Western Order, thus, doesn’t need to be said as “Leda Astel”.
After that, he goes back on how to say “Holostars 2nd Generation” in his intro. Then begins to practice his English intro again, focusing on nuances such as how to say channel. He says the full intro with no stops and chat praises him for how well he did it (and it was really good!) He then wondered about how this would sound in Google Translate and then wandered away from it. He asks if he should say stream or channel when opening a stream and chat informs him that “stream” was more common to say. He goes back to Google and types in his intro, he laughs and tells chat he’s gonna play what it said. And then proceeds to play the robotic translation voice live. And as expected, it’s terrible haha. But he copies and pastes it into his document anyways. He briefly mocks the AI voice for how it said Konkishi and chat lets him know that it spelled Holostars wrong.
After correcting the mistakes, he makes a template to talk about a stream’s topic/theme. He reads a chat message about the nuances between “Topic” and “Today’s stream is”, becoming impressed by it and praises the chatter accordingly. He continued to figure out how to structure his intro/greeting for a bit. He brings out Google Sensei again and the voice repeats “Today’s theme is to decide on a greeting for this channel.” After a moment he laughs at how the voice sounds. This continues for a couple more minutes.
Once he gets most of the intro stuff out of the way, he eases into how to say “I’m going to the toilet”/“Let’s take a break!” Afterwards, he asks about which is better between toilet and bathroom, and then restroom and bathroom. With the help of chat, he learns more ways to say he’s taking a short break. Then he declares he wants to get a drink, proceeds to shake his matcha bottle, drinks it and says it’s “So Delicious!” Haha. Someone in chat says SSG. (Sasuga/As Expected) and Temma’s impressed that a JP word has an abbreviation in English. Once he finishes his notes, he ends up going to the bathroom for real.
Timestamps (Thank you Nisa!!!!)
1:19:17 Modottekitayo -" I'm back" learns that from chat.
1:22:00 Wants to learn what things to say when ending the stream
1:23:40 "Thanks for watching see you guys next time"
1:25:19 "Which is better- thanks for or thank you for" Chat teaches that 'thanks' is more casual than 'thank you' thus he chooses the casual thanks as that 's the vibe he wants, also says because his viewers are his friends.
1:27:26 Learns "See you guys next time!"
1:27:44 Realizes he also wants to add please subscribe and like my stream"
1:28:40 "Thanks for watching! Please suscribe to my channel and like it."
1:30:04 "Bonk the like button... hit the like button." Which is better, like button or good button? chat says 'like' button
1:31:41 Asks why do we say 'hit' the like button and not 'push', because in Japanese context 'hit' usually means hitting like in baseball. Temma learns that 'hit' equals to a slang of 'press' from chat. also learns that 'click' is a good word alternative.
1:34-19 how to pronounce 'button'; butt-on or boot-on, says' boot-on in the end
1:35:25 finalises his end stream ment. also asks chat totell him if he made a mistake (very good kishi behavior).
1:39:00 Finds out 'see you next time' is versatile as it promises a potential future stream without specifying date and time as Temma is known for guerillas
1:40:44 / 1:41:44 Learns how to say "I have been streaming for 2 hours, really?!" and "It's already been 2 hours, really?!"
1:46:30" I've been studying for 2 hours, wow, I'm genius!"
"I've been studying for 3 hours? Wow, I have super stamina!"
1:50:28" Adds dramatic 'NO CAP?!!' to end of his sentence.
1:53:00 Adds 'but, I'm hungry.' Chat suggests 'getting hungry' and he asks what does it mean. learns that 'a bit' = 'a little!
1:55: 40 Learns 'I'm not hungry!' and 'I'm not hungry yet'
Uses 'yet' in a new sentence immediately "Do you want water? I'm not thirsty yet."
2:00:52 End stream talk. Spends the remaining stream for creating a thumbnail for day 2 of study stream and reading and thanking superchats.
Day 2 - 【STUDY】 Let's study useful phrases to use in a talk stream!!【Kishido Temma/Holostars】
By Umbrella's Chainsaw
OHAKISHIIII
It's another day of English Study with Temma! He starts by apologizing for being a little late, but chat assures him it's okay.
Before he starts, he notices the chat isn't appearing on stream, so after a bit of tech support, he managed to get it on screen before moving on. Then he uses the greeting he learned previously to greet everyone! (He did so well!!) Afterwards, he mentions the topic the stream: Chat/Zatsudan phrases. He wants to gather as much as he can so he could have a decent conversation with chat in English. So we start with asking people how they're doing. After a bit of nuance between "how is everyone" and "how are you guys", Temma ultimately goes with the latter. Which leads to chat asking how is he, he says he's "super fine" lol. In return, he asks how everyone is doing, most people say they're doing good, some are saying they're sleepy (as it is early for Asia viewers).
Then we move on to choosing A over B types of conversations. He says he likes Udon more than Soba as his first example.
> Someone uses prefer and he asks what it means, after getting clarification, he uses it for his own example.
> He really likes Japanese Green Tea.
> Asks about the nuance between "Taking notes" and "Writing notes". Eventually is told while both work, the former is more natural to say. So he uses it when he stops talking to take notes for a couple moments.
> Works on responses to "How are you", various examples include "I'm great/I'm alright/I'm good" etc,
> OK is OK
> At one point he says his phone is dying (It was at 30%) and asks how he would say it in English so he can take a moment to go and charge it. He eventually charges his phone.
> He wants to ask if anything good happen recently, gets many responses-One says they got new headphones which prompts Temma to say he likes headphones over earphones.
> Someone says the best thing recently was watching Temma, he is flattered.
> Temma is taught the word supremacy. This is used accordingly,
> Starts an Android vs iPhone debate. Ends as expected.
> Many instances of Chat confuses Temma
> Temma is very cute
> Asks chat if they're excited for anything, various responses. Someone asks if Temma is excited for anything and he says he's excited to play Smash Brothers with Miyabi (This would occur the following day, April 10th).
> After more nuances and writing more notes, he declares the day finished.
> He wants to show he did in fact write notes, so he takes a moment to upload his photos to his computer and shows them in CSP. It was very cute.
> Since he wants to continue on Monday, he makes a thumbnail for it right then and there lol.
> After reviewing his notes and chatting a bit more, he ends the stream and tells everyone to look forward to Hanakishi SSB.

TEMMA SUPREMACY !!!!!!!!
Day 3 - 【STUDY】 Phrases that can be used in DBD【Kishido Temma/Holostars】
Ohakishi!
Today is Day 3 of Temma's English studies! In this stream he wants to go over phrases to use in one his favorite games, Dead By Daylight! So he starts up the game and explains he'll record some gameplay to study off of. Eventually he goes on to play DBD for the next 20 minutes. (Actual studying starts at 29:00) After a couple of rounds, he's satisfied with his clip and goes on to actually study it. It's a tad bit confusing here as the audio from his clip and his own talking are going on at the same time. Double Temma Effect. As he goes on with the clip, he asks questions on how he should say certain phrases. Examples include "This map is difficult.", "Ex 2.", 'Ex 3". etc. During this, Temma learns that English has many ways of saying the exact same thing. But he's fine with having the options to use what he feels fits best. Later on, he wants to express frustration, "I missed it!", "I made a mistake!" with "Damn it!".
After being told "Damn it" is a curse word and being similar to "Kuso" (Which also means any variety of curses), Temma decided he would keep using "Damn it." A valid option. A moment later he considers it, "High level English". Bit more reviewing later, he notices he's been "streaming for 2 hours? WOW! Oh my god! No cap??" Then he asks chat how was their weekend and among all the simple things people have done, someone says Temma happened was a good thing that happened to them. His response was a "wow". When asked how was his weekend, he says he bought a big fish burger for 510 yen and it was delicious. While he asked, he learned about how kaigai (Mostly Americans) are still in Sunday and while it's already Monday in Japan. He thought it was interesting. Then he says his birthday is next Sunday (April 18) And he's really excited for it! (Please do tune in!) After that, he pulls up his thumbnail and changes Day 3 to 4, saying he wants to do part 2 of learning DBD Phrases. So stay tuned for part two tomorrow! Then he goes on to end the stream and thanks everyone for watching and he loves us! Otsukishi!
