Day R1 - 【English Study】For the First Time in a Long Time, My Motivation to Study is Extreme!【Kishido Temma/Holostars】
By Umbrella’s Chainsaw#7249 (Umbrella)
Starts by greeting and telling us it's been a while since he's done these streams! Also proclaiming he forgot everything. Forgets SC's are off, turns them on and a wave of 'Welcome back' comes in and he thanks them all. Talks about the new Hanakishi AsuIzu Monster cover and says it's his favorite cover (He didn't say in general or one that he's done but he says he really likes the cover!) and talks about how Izuru led on the vocals! Saying that Izuru provided the base for them and rest followed his lead (He calls Izuru the "Vocal Leader").
SNEEZE TSKR
He brings out his old notes and starts reading some of them (ex. Hungry. Because in true Temma fashion, he didn't eat and is very hungry.) SC comes and says they're glad the streams are back and says it's their birthday! Temma thanks them and wishes them a happy birthday~! Then he mentions he lost his house key somewhere in his house. He has yet to find it. May he find it soon. Shuffles through notes again and finds the Among Us phrases from a while ago, (Main one being "sus").
More shuffling and he proceeds to say the date. It takes him a moment to remember "November" and eventually tells us It's Monday November 1st 2021. Chat asks if he went trick or treating for Halloween, Temma answers no and explains while he doesn't dislike Halloween, he doesn't like it either. He usually stays home and not much else. Asks us the same question and (according to Temma) 90% of chat says no. Proceeds to call us "inkya" or "introvert" because we don't go outside for trick ot treating. He then says we're "on the same team" as some form of comfort but honestly I don't know. Then he says the main reason why he doesn't care too much about the holiday is because it's his mother's birthday hence it takes priority. Tells us how he asks her for presents and she doesn't know.
He asks us about sleep and while chat likes sleep, some either can't go more than 6 hours. Some sleep for a long time.
Part 2: Temma mentions he sleeps for a long time (liar). After that he asks about EN lessons and apparently on some site he jumped to lesson 5. Whether he managed to test out of 1-4 or just jumped is unknown to me. Chat suggests asking and EN Vtuber for help and he laughs. Doesn't really deny or accept the request. A bit about exposure and then suddenly it's German time. Says a few phrases he remembers (such as "ich liebe" and "dankenschon" ich liebe means "I love you" and dankeschon means "thank you" respectively. Door bell rings and he goes to check it out. Comes back before leaving again for the same reason. Comes back and decides to end the stream. Says he is surprised he streamed for one hour!! (Note: It was 59 mins and 45 seconds!!!) "NO CAP". Also, He is hungry.
【English Study】Teach Me English I can use in My English Conversation Lessons!! w【Kishido Temma/Holostars】
By Umbrella’s Chainsaw#7249 (Umbrella)
Konkishi!
Today Temma wants to learn easy English phrases for conversations. He told us that he learned “What’s new?” in his lessons and wanted to try it here. His sensei used this phrase to start off a conversation between them as practice. One conversation revolved around Mario Kart. He then turns to chat and asks them the same thing.
Now, he moves on to fish. Fish is pretty popular in Japan with different ways of preparation and all. For this, Temma focuses on sanma (秋刀魚), or Pacific Saury, a type of mackerel. He asked if we ever had this kind of fish, most replied with no. So he said he’ll teach us about Saury. He then explained that it’s the most delicious in the fall (Here he asked why there were two different words for fall/autumn and chat explained that one is American and the other is British). Which most likely means that the fish is best eaten in the fall. Then he broke down the kanji with aki (秋) meaning autumn, katana (刀) meaning sword (he further explains by referencing samurai) and sakana (魚) of course meaning fish. Someone asks about Yozora (Temma’s sword) and he exclaims, “YOZORA IS SANMA”. Afterwards, he says that the fish is a sword because it’s long and sharp (probably where the katana part of its name comes from). Then he points to the plate the fish is sitting on and explains how every Japanese house has this kind of long 30 cm plate. His house has 3 of them, one for his father, his mother and him. He asks if we have this kind of plate and learns that the plate is rare overseas. Temma then explains that fish isn’t the only food people use this plate for, they can also have dashimaki (the Japanese rolled omelet). You can also find dashimaki in Izakaya (Japanese Bars) along with other foods.
With that, he moves to different ways to prepare eggs. He makes a big category called Tamagoyaki and lists 3 types: dashimaki (the rolled egg), medamayaki (a sunny side up egg/fried egg) and then scrambled eggs. I believe here someone broke it down to Tamago Cook and Temma agreed with the phrase. Then he asks to chat about what's our favorite Japanese foods, a variety of answers ranging from ramen, to sushi, katsu, etc. Afterwards, Temma talks about nikujaga (肉じゃが), which is a Japanese comfort food with meat and potatoes usually. It has a gentle (mild) flavor and each one varies depending on the household.
Here he explains mother’s taste (ofukoro no aji) and how everyone’s mom has a different way of making different foods. Someone says they didn’t know there were other words for mom. Temma then explains that Japanese is stupid in the regards that there’s many ways to say mother. So he lists about 10 different ways to say it. He specifically points out that mama (he uses this one) and okaasan are common. Words such as hahaue are rarer than the rest. He points at Okan and says Miyabi uses this to refer to his own mother. Someone then asks if it’s the same for father and Temma says yes and lists a similar set of words. We learn that oyaji can mean both old man and father but apparently ojyaji is common among young teens and the Yazuka.
Temma ends shortly after and otsukishi!
【English Study】I have mastered English Opening Talk.【Kishido Temma/Holostars】

Konkishiii!
Another day of Temma’s English studies comes again! He starts by saying that he’s only going until 20 JST, and along the way tries to figure out the best way to say 8PM/20 o’clock etc before settling on 8 PM. He then asks chat how are they and many seem to be doing alright. Someone says they’re sleepy and Temma relates to the statement. He then explains he hasn’t gotten much sleep recently and how it also affects when he eats because he’s so tired. He’s hoping to get a lot of sleep soon. But he says that knight training is hard so he has to keep up even if it means no sleep. Someone asks about the training and Temma iterates that it’s a secret so he can’t tell us. Then someone asks him what he ate today and he says he had eggplant and roast beef-yum. He says because he worked hard this week Mamakishi made a lot of good food (he also called the food gorgeous here, which probably emphasizes how good it was haha)
Right after this, he brings up his mama’s diet and weight loss journey and ultimately gives details about it while all the information we receive about him is that he weighs three apples like Hello Kitty. He asks us if we have any questions and one person asked if he likes Holostars (he does). Then a question about whether he’ll participate in any Pokémon related things but he says he sold all his cards and retired-Don’t worry, he was joking about selling his cards but he is retired from playing. He mentions it was mostly due to having no opponents or not being able to play with others. Then someone asks if he’ll retire from Mario Kart and he explains how he has a goal to reach 30k raid points and leave the game afterwards (he’s currently at around 23.5k~ points), he also doesn’t know what he’ll do when Mario Kart is over.
Moving from games, a comment says that Temma is a great teacher and he turns to say we’re all great students! He expresses enjoyment teaching us Japanese and us teaching him English! He asks us if we’ve been studying Japanese or are interested in it and someone says they’ve been studying and Temma calls them a nice student. Then asks if we want to visit Japan and some people said yes. Which turns into someone asking what is something Temma recommends. He thinks for a moment and says the Tokyo Sky Tree which says it’s the tallest building in the world-However this is disputed by chat saying there’s another building in Dubai that’s much taller. In somewhat disbelief, he searches it up and realizes he was wrong from his previous statement. He proclaims himself as a liar and apologizes. Then someone asks what’s his favorite food, which perplexes him as there’s too many good foods to choose from haha. Then says when he orders ramen from a specific place, he gets a side of rice as the broth has a strong pork flavor and other sides would be overwhelmed by it. He also gets lots of garlic with his food and says he loves it.
A quick detour from food and someone asks if he’ll play Splatoon again. He replies that he wants to play with Fuma, stating that he doesn’t want to play alone. :( And then someone says they bought English books so they can learn with Temma too! This makes him very happy. Back to food, someone asks about his favorite dessert and he says it’s Choco Monaka Jumbo- an ice cream treat that is vanilla ice cream with a waffle cone like shell and layers of chocolate in the middle. He says it’s very cheap and delicious! However, he says it’s very messy as eating it causes crumbs to be everywhere. To which he says, if you have weak eating skills, your floor will get very messy with crumbs. And then someone explained “skill issue” (a meme) and how it would apply in this situation. To which he compares it to Zako (which loosely means noob/weak skill).
Someone asks if he’ll open the Weiss-Schwarz x Holostars Card set when they come out, he responds saying he doesn’t know but he would love to open them with Arusan! Then another question comes and asks where he would like to travel. He says Australia because of the map in Mario Kart that’s based on Sydney. But then says this is where his parents went on their honeymoon~! Someone mentions the giant bugs there, but Temma says he isn’t afraid of them, so he thinks he’ll be okay. He also mentions wanting to see a kangaroo like in cartoons and is then told it’s not a good idea (this is due to the fact that cartoons don’t equal real life. Please don’t mess with a kangaroo.)
He says tomorrow (Sunday) there will be a Yurustars Minecraft Collab! They will be playing on a custom map so please check it out at 19JST!
Otsukishiiiiiii!

KONKISHIIIIIIII
ANOTHER DAY OF-oh BGM wasn’t on please hold. Hm.. Okay. Okay. BGM is on. All good. Anyways.
ANOTHER DAY OF TEMMA’S ENGLISH STUDIES RETURNS ONCE MORE. He says he wants to answer as many English questions as he can. He’s only going until 20:20 (8:20 PM).
He moves on to ask how everyone is doing and most say they’re doing good. Someone says they feel full from eating dinner, after slight approval of food, Temma says he’s doing bad. Chat asks why and he answers he didn’t eat lunch. When questioned again about why he skipped lunch, he mentions he’s super busy and didn’t have time to eat. Poor Temma. But, he is going to eat when this stream is over, hence why he’s only going for an hour. When asked what he was going to eat, he said he’ll eat chicken breast, because it’s healthy. Someone asks if he’ll fry or boil and he says boiled…Because frying is high in fat and calories. He then explains he wants a MUSCLE BODY so he has to avoid fatty high calorie foods. Unfortunately, all he wants is exactly that. Then he says he wants to be like Dwayne ‘The Rock” Johnson or Arnold Schwarzneggar, big muscles and everything. Someone comments “Temmanator” (In reference to the Terminator) and Temma finds it kind of funny.
He mentions again he wants to “answer many questions” so when someone asks how often he goes to the gym, he says twice a week. Another asks, if he also likes beef, he says yes and his favorite cut is beef tongue. Chat asks if he likes pork and he says he does but it’s fatty so he doesn’t have it often. But it’s so delicious… Then another question asks what’s his favorite kind of clothes, he says he doesn’t have much interest but he does really like Aloha (Hawaiian Themed) shirts, along with funny and colorful themes in general. Someone asks if he’s ever been to Hawaii and he says he has! A couple years ago he went there on a graduation trip with nine of his uni friends! He mentions the staff there spoke a bit of Japanese so he was able to communicate without too much English. Someone commented there’s a large Japanese population in Hawaii and Temma agrees. Another asks what he ate in Hawaii and he answers burgers and other American foods (no specifics on that). He says the food was very good but super expensive (Hawaii is pretty expensive in general).
Chat asks what else he did there and he says he went swimming in the sea! Then mentions he’s really good at swimming as he started when he was about six years old until he was about 15. He also mentions he did karate from 15 to 16 and started piano at 14. He’s apparently been at all this for roughly 10 years. Afterwards, he wonders if he can speak true English and Chat is very encouraging. “Super Genius Knight”. Someone asks what’s his favorite summer activity and he says going to the pool! But specifically indoor pools with water slides. He prefers this to outdoor pools and the sea because he doesn’t like getting sunburned. He then mentions he’s gone river diving and rafting! Both were very fun but incredibly scary. He admits he’s scared of heights so he’s not fond of diving but all his friends were doing it so he had to do it too. Temma admits it was peer pressure. A comment asks if he’s also scared of roller coasters, he says he is up until he’s actually on the ride. He can’t say he’s not afraid but he still thinks they’re scary nonetheless.
Then Chat asks what’s his favorite summer snack and he at first isn’t sure how to answer. But then answers “hard fried potato?” Afterwards, he mentions the texture, which he first says is chewy but chat corrects him in that chewy is a different texture than what he’s trying to say (which is crispy). To which says he doesn’t like chewy potatoes haha. And then eventually answers he likes regular salty potato chips. He says there’s at least 20 different flavors of chips, but he enjoys plain salt the most. Then he mentions he wanted to say that potato chips aren’t limited to summer and that they could be eaten year around. And now the food talk has gotten to him and he’s very hungry now. He’ll stream tomorrow at around 19JST!
OTSUKISHIIIIIII~
By Umbrella’s Chainsaw#7249 (Umbrella)
Konkishiiiii!
We are back. Once more. With Temma’s English Studies. As usual, he introduces himself before he declares he wants to “grow from yesterday!!” Of course he’s been doing super well but Temma never settles for less. He asks Chat what’s up, what’s new, how are they, etc. A comment says they just ate dinner and then Temma asks everyone what time it is. Among the answers someone says they just woke up, which momentarily confuses him before he says what time it is for him, (It was 7PM at the time). A couple comments say it’s 6AM (in America) and Temma is surprised before saying it’s too early (It is indeed.) Then he proceeds to say good morning to all the morning people in chat. On the subject of time, Temma says he’ll go until 8:20 PM (20:20, about an hour or so), which would be 7:20 AM in America. He thinks about his condition and he replies he is hungry. A little hungry, but he’s not bad. He went to the gym and did more muscle training 3 hours earlier. After discussing the nuance of time phrases, he says he went to the gym a while ago (rather than specifically saying 3 hours ago). Then he realizes the BGM was barely audible so he goes and fixes it real quick-And surprise! It’s a new BGM for English/Chatting streams! (It’s a very cute BGM in my opinion).
After that he reiterates he went to the gym a while ago. But because of that, he didn’t eat dinner yet (he did so after the stream, he was very happy about it). A very hungry Temma. He says his dinner will be buckwheat soba, but for a moment is unsure how to describe it so he goes away for a bit to confirm. He comes back with the package and confirms it’s 100% soba (powder? Which apparently is 80% soba and 20%..other powders. So not really 100% soba.) But the package says 100% soba, so who are we to question it? Then he goes on to say how it’s low carb, but high in protein. He concludes it’s very healthy. His training coach told him about this soba and recommended he try it. It has chicken breast (which he at first calls chest, but is corrected that the term he’s looking for is breast) and lots of vegetables. Then it’s explained how chest would be used for things like a treasure chest or a minecraft chest and ultimately is told that chest has a bunch of different meanings.
Then he moves on to say that today he also wants to answer a bunch of questions. He also apologizes for the typo he made on ‘many’ (he said meny initially) and fixed it accordingly. So now he asks if chat has any questions. First question, “What do you like to do in your free time?” he answers that he’s planning to do season 2 of Holostars RUST!! (Please check out last season, it was absolutely wonderful and hilarious) He’s making a practice map to test stronger buildings, bases and the like. (So exciting!!!!) He asks everyone to please look forward to Season 2 of RUST! He then mentions he made a new original rule for next season, (he doesn’t mention what this rule is, but we’ll surely find out when the time comes) He mentions how he’s happy that a bunch of the Holostars EN boys joined in on the event and they were very happy about it too! Someone in chat asks if more people will participate in Season 2 and Temma clarifies that it will still be Holostars Only. But maybe in Season 3 he’ll let more male vtubers join in on the chaos. Of course this is all just a big maybe.
And here he ends the RUST talk. But he reads a comment that Shinri really wants to play again, and he says that he is already talking about Season 2 (with the others I think?). He mentions (in JP) that setting up a server is hard but he’s getting through it. Then mentions how Miyabi was asking about Season 2 as well, and he’s seen Izuru’s shopping spree (If you don’t know, Izuru has been buying a bunch of RUST skins as he waits for more RUST). He finds it amusing how much Izuru enjoys RUST (and buying the skins). And then he realizes he’s been talking quite a bit in Japanese, so he moves back to English talk. He reads a comment that hopes he can interact with the StarsEN boys more and he agrees. He then says he can’t fully understand their English so he wants to improve his (English) skills. Chat says what if he teaches them Japanese and they teach him English and he says it’s his dream! But reiterates he doesn’t have that level of skill. He hopes in one year he’ll be better at English and American culture. And then mentions how Axel’s fluent in Japanese but he’s not sure if he can match half of Axel’s level of fluency haha. Chat then says they’ll keep cheering him on. The comment uses ‘achieve’ and he learns what it means in context. Then immediately uses it on how he’ll achieve his Mario Kart raid point goal. He lists his dreams as 1: Speaking English and 2: Getting 30k points in Mario Kart. Simple yet straightforward dreams.
Someone in chat says that Mario Kart with EN would be great for bonding. He’s confused at the word bonding until he learns it’s Kizuna (きずな (絆)). Then he starts trying to link it to DBD (?). After that, he thanks chat for teaching him the word bonding and now he’s growing more from yesterday. A comment then says he uses DBD phrases all the time and points to “Please don’t hang me on the meat hook.” as regular usage. He says it’s a survivor phrase and then mimics one begging not to be hanged. A comment asks what would Temma say as a killer and his response was “I’ll kill you and make teacup from your skull”. Brutal but very Temma. So be wary if Temma is a killer in your DBD session. After laughing at it being a “Dark Knight phrase’ he ends up learning the nuance between a teacup and a mug. And the fact that it’s usually not called a mug cup but instead, a mug. Chat says the difference depends on what you want to drink and he asks to teach him what “depends” means. Many say ‘depends’ requires context. Then he uses a fork vs chopstick comparison and nails it on the first try. He thinks it’s a nice word.
He makes up an example question, “What do you want to eat today?”, “Hmm. I have no idea! It depends on you!” Chat then says, “it’s up to you.” The existence of “up” in the sentence confuses the Temma. He asks why it’s there. After trying to understand it, he’s told it just sounds more natural. But he likes “it depends on you” better. He makes up another example around movies. He then asks for the difference between “Would you like” vs “Do you want to” and learns that the former is more polite and the latter is casual. And then he says he would use “Would you like” on Yagoo and “Do you want to” on Arurandeisu.
He ends the stream there and says he’ll be streaming Mario Kart at 2PM (14JST) tomorrow (7/28)!
OTSUKISHIIIIIIII!
【STUDYING EN】Today, I'll learn English and teach Japanese too!【Kishido Temma/Holostars】
By Umbrella’s Chainsaw#7249 (Umbrella)
Konkishi!!!!
It’s been a while. And that means another Temma English stream (that’s surprisingly at JST night instead). After his cute animated opening we see Temma! In the Hanakishi Radio scene! Unfortunately it’s not a sporadic Hanakishi Radio stream, (The next one is actually August 7th on Miyabi’s channel at 7JST!!) but instead Temma pressed the wrong button. After getting to the correct scene, he does his usual intro. Today is a usual English Study day and of course he wants to teach us some Japanese as well! He starts by pointing out it’s a rare night time stream (For English streams that is. Temma is no stranger to obscure late JST streams). And then he gets into the nuance of timing conventions (As Japan uses the military time 24 hour format while most Americans use 12 hour formats. Both are acceptable, Temma just wants everyone to understand what he means.) He uses the example of 26, 27, 28 (In Japan these times are usually for late night shows, especially Anime. If someone says 26JST on Friday, it means 2AM Saturday pretty much). Temma emphasizes this is normal (In Japan at least. He says he’s surprised that Americans don’t use this kind of format). Which leads to someone asking if Japan has 26 hours in a day, Temma quickly corrects that Japan has 24, and that anything above is for late night.
Someone in chat thanks Temma for the lesson before he asks everyone how they’re doing (Chat asks about 28 o’clock but Temma says he can’t say that). So here it is a little confusing, but I will try my best here. Temma explains there’s been some strong thunderstorms (Typhoons) yesterday (cue some cute Temma weather sound effects). He says he saw on Twitter/X that someone’s mom got caught in the storm and struck by lightning. However, due to him not particularly finding the correct words/phrasing, Chat horrifyingly thinks it was his mother that got struck by lightning. Thankfully, his mother is okay and wasn’t the one who got caught (No worries though, the woman who did get struck is okay as her umbrella protected her from further harm). After this, people were expressing their dislike for Twitter’s rebranding of X, but Temma says we need to get used to it (No.) Someone in chat comments that when they heard him say X, they thought he was referring to Machina X Flayon (A very red pilot from Holostars EN, whom, since the name change, has been part of many silly X jokes). Temma then says he can’t really talk about Flay here and must be careful (to not stray off topic, I believe). Chat asks if there’s anything Temma is looking forward to in August to which he responds that he’ll be playing a Murder Mystery! (For those who don’t know, Temma started doing a monthly Murder Mystery but last month had to be postponed). Another asks about AGF (Animate Girls Festival, which is an event dedicated to media/media properties targeted mostly towards girls, so there’s a lot of hot anime men, Holostars included.) and Temma says he’s excited for it too (This year’s theme is Club Holostars and it’s very very nice.)
Chat asks what is Murder Mystery and is it fun. Temma explains it’s a detective game where you have to find the criminal/imposter through a series of clues. The catch with this is that once you go through a scenario, you can never play that one ever again. Because you already know how it ends, thus would ruin the fun if you played again. This also applies to watching streams of it so do be careful when talking about it (This is where Temma learns about Spoiler Alert/ネタバレ有り) He also says it’s difficult because they can only speak in Japanese so English speakers can’t fully understand. Chat then reassures Temma that it’s still fun. Someone then says they may not understand much, but they still enjoy watching Holostars. Temma thinks it’s nice and asks Why (Why is it fun for them? Though, there was a very long pause after that “Why?” before he explains anymore.) He says in English why they enjoy Holostars, (Many say because they like him/them and it’s fun.) In Japanese, his intentions were to ask why is it fun for them and all the answers say because it’s fun haha. So he re-words his question to reflect that. Someone says “Because Holostars is Holostars” and he responds with “Wow, That is deep.” (Indeed it is.) Another comment then says it’s because everyone gets along with each other and he thinks it’s nice.
He moves on to talk about the McDonalds challenge with Arusan, Shien, Rikka and Miyabi from yesterday. In that stream they ate 10k yen (or about $100 worth) of food in about 4 hours give or take. He tries to explain it as a mukbang (or big eater in a way) before mentioning how funny he thought it was. He poked fun at Miyabi messaging the Holostars LINE group about needing help finishing the food. Temma wishes he was in the stream but unfortunately he was too busy to join. But he would have if he could. He moves on to say he’s learned a lot of English from his teacher (he’s actually referring to us/Chat here!!) and during his classes he actually used phrases (“It depends on you” and “It’s up to you!”) that we taught him aww. He mentions that his teacher does know he’s a streamer but they don’t know who he is (As in they don’t know he’s Temma for obvious reasons). His teacher was very impressed by his English! So he’s thankful for everyone teaching him!
He then uses this phrase in a pretend convo about fruit. He asks whether grapes, oranges, apples or peaches are better. He says he doesn’t like peaches (or apples) but it’s up to the other person on what they want. In the end, he says he likes grapes and oranges so the other person can choose from that. After that he corrects and says he does like peaches (but still hates apples). Someone comments that English is tough and for a moment Temma struggles to understand what tough means, until chat says it’s similar to hard or difficult. There, Temma learns that there’s a lot of words in English that have similar meanings and that’s it’s hard to study sometimes. However, he mentions that Japanese is the same (looking at you, やばい). And that there’s 3 different writing systems, (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji) which makes studying the language very difficult for new people.(He also makes funny kishi sounds here). And then chat laminates that kanji sucks. Temma shares that sediment. Someone comments they’re able to read both Hiragana and Katakana, Temma then praises them for it. Someone says Temma’s been studying for 10 years but he quickly corrects that he's been learning for over 20 years, but still thinks he’s not that great at it.
Chat then says that Kanji makes them cry, to which he says that English makes him happy because he can talk to all of us with it! A moment later someone says that there’s Americans who can’t spell or use some English words properly (Which I guess is a way of saying Temma shouldn’t feel as bad for not knowing Japanese well enough when there’s native English speakers who can’t spell). To which Temma says he can’t either but it’s his goal to communicate with chat and the other Holostars EN members! Though, he clarifies speaking rather than writing. But he does want to improve his writing someday! Then someone asks if he ate dinner, initially he says yes! But then it turns out he misspoke and hasn't eaten since lunch (which was 8 hours ago at that point. He had a late 4PM Lunch). Someone asks what Temma uses to study English, he answers its streaming and his online English School. And doesn’t use books. We are his teachers though!! And he thinks we're great teachers!!! He says that the streams are a wonderful learning environment! Then says, if we want to learn Japanese, he’ll help us! It’s a win-win for everyone! After that he reads a comment that says they wanted to say “subarashii” in response to which Temma responds by saying subarashii and clapping. And almost instantly, chat is filled with subarashii. He calls it scary and claims chat is a cult. (Temma please)
Then a brave soul in chat asks Temma to be their husband. Temma is taken back a little by this. At this time, chat starts fighting (wanting?) to take Temma’s hand in marriage (Temma already married us in 2021 guys. pls.) Temma then says that he belongs to everyone, thus no need to fight. But, you should buy his proposal voice, available now at the Hololive Production Official Shop for the low low price of 770 yen (or 5 bucks)! Buy it now to hear Temma actually propose to you! (Not really but it’s still very very good I recommend it). And then he calls us his wife. Very nice. He mentions there’s no English version of the Proposal voices so you can’t fully understand his proposal. Chat jokingly says it's ok there’s Google Translate. Someone else says they’ll learn Japanese just for that voice pack haha.
Temma then mentions how a while ago Arusan, Izuru, Miyabi and him decided to play Terraria and now they’re finally able to do it! He invited them to play and they’ll do the collab later this month (I think). And then mentions he cleared Normal mode, but hasn’t checked out Hard mode so he invited them to try Hard mode together. They all said okay. He asked us if we’re having fun and everyone said yes. Then he mentions there’s something he’ll announce on August 18th so we should look forward to it!! It’s a very nice announcement too!
He moves on to say how a couple days ago he uploaded his membership only cover song-mela! And if you’re in his membership go listen to it! If you’re not, join and listen to it! With that, he says August’s membership cover is Merou/Mellow(?) and he thinks it’s a nice song! (It is a good song). Also every month with the cover there’s a wallpaper of that cover’s art that’s free to download! (The wallpapers are ally nice. So many kishis)
With that, he decides to end here for today! See you next time!

KONKISHIIIII
More Temma English! Another Late Night English stream! As usual he greets everyone and asks everyone what’s up. Everyone seems to be doing pretty good, some are sleepy though. When asked how he is, he says he’s fine. He wants to study a bit today because he has English classes on August 5th and 6th. Someone asks if there’s a phrase he wants to learn and he says there’s a new one he wants to learn and just try to improve overall. Today he wants to talk about the Japanese Low Carb System, so first he asks to chat if they know and overall consensus is that no one is aware of it.
The system at the basic level is when you replace a carb (such as rice or noodles) with a salad or any sort of low carb alternative. Temma explains that plenty of stores (shops?) offer this system, so if someone is looking for a healthier alternative, the option is available. He points to Sukiya, a chain restaurant in Japan that offers gyudon or beef bowls. A typical gyudon has beef and rice, so if the place offers the system, someone can replace the rice with a salad or a veggie side. Temma then mentions how there're three big chains in Japan: Sukiya, Matsuya and Yoshinoya, and most locations offer this system. He says for his muscle training, he needs to adhere to the low carb diet, and also increase his stamina. He pulls up a menu to further explain the system and how it works. The one Temma points to is where you can buy two sides of salad and one bowl of beef. And the thing is, Temma does like his carbs, but they make him super sleepy so he can’t have them often, no matter how delicious they may be. Luckily, if he eats the low carb menu, he doesn’t get sleepy. So he will continue to eat that menu.
However, he had a lot of carbs for breakfast so he got a lot of energy (cue Temma trying to say energize). He had low carbs later on so he’s fine. Someone asked if the chicken was for muscle training to which he replied no, but he’ll go tomorrow. He just wanted to eat fried chicken for breakfast. (Ya know, absolutely fair.) Someone asked how long does he stay at the gym for and he replied “60-90 minutes two times a week”. He was then asked if he goes alone and while he says yes, he does have his trainer to help him with training. He then mentions it’s a small gym (with only a kitchen, that no one uses, and a toilet) so his sessions are quite personal. He calls it a one room mansion (Mansion (マンシオン) is actually a Japanese word for an apartment, not a giant house like we know it in English). Someone joked that it could be used for making smoothies and he replied with Maybe. But he reiterates that he doesn’t use the kitchens. Then a comment asks if he likes protein shakes, he says he doesn’t like them. He likes the flavor, but he doesn’t like the shakes themselves, as they’re too troublesome to make. However, this results in him saying they’re a pain in the butt (Which is what he did mean to say, just funky wording) And then it spirals into “I’m too lazy”. Because GTL was a bit too…literal by saying pain in the butt. This is where he was momentarily confused by everyone laughing in chat. Chat mentioned it was because the translation was funny but he still asked why it was. Then someone pointed out butt = oshiri/おしり to which then he understands why everyone found it funny. (The realization here was also hilarious) After a couple moments of Temma saying “I’m a pain in the butt (boot)” he turns to the canvas to write out what he had intended earlier.
Now it’s Temma Sensei time. He tells us how to say “I’m Lazy” in Japanese (私はめんどうくさがりです/watashiwa mendoukusagari desu). Then he asks us if we’re lazy and chat is an overwhelming “yes”. One person does say no and Temma praises that one person. Temma then says that there’s too many lazy kishimen in chat (temma pls, we know). Someone says they want motivation so Temma asks everyone to Fight/Wake Up/Go Work. (Whether this worked or not is beyond what I can comprehend. I can only hope Temma helped the people). In an effort to properly thank someone for finishing their work、 he turns to teach us otsukaresama desu (おつかれさま です). He says we can use this any time and talks about the times you would say this to someone. He says he would use おつかれさま です to Yagoo、 but to his friends and family it would be おつかれさま -no です. The super casual terms would be either おつかれ or just おつ. Don’t say these to your boss or any superior.
Someone then asks if it’s like おつスターズ/Otsustars (which is the sign for big Holostars collabs). Of course the mention of otsukishi/おつきし which is Temma’s sign off for his own solo streams. And someone points out that a lot of Holostars use otsukishi as well. Temma is well aware of it and call the Holostars members that do so, crazy. He doesn’t understand why they say it (It started when Temma wasn’t present for a big collab so they said it in his steed. And then it became a thing regardless of whether Temma was there or not. Which is how he ended up finding out in the first place.) The biggest offender is his own genmate, Astel (whom he just calls Leda, I thought that was hilarious) who says otsukishi any time, anywhere. (For those wondering, Astel doesn’t really have his own sign off, but people do occasionally use Otsukaleda, which he doesn’t use himself). Temma doesn’t understand why he does it. And immediately after, his chat breaks (At the time of the stream, Astel himself does go live and people joked that he cursed the chat. Temma calls it Astel’s curse haha).
Going back to Otsukaresama, Temma explains it has developed a bad meaning in recent times, especially in a game setting. He says in games, you can say otsukare in a mocking way if the teammate/player performed badly. He uses Street Fighter 6 as a game example and poor Arusan as his target haha. If he beats him in SF6, Temma will say otsukaresamadesu in a mocking tone, which could make Arusan upset. In the end, your tone and context matters in its meaning.
Moving on, Temma mentions the Sky Lanterns event that he’ll attend later this month (it’s basically when people release thousands of paper lanterns into the sky) and he’s pretty interested in it. He then asks if anyone has attended it and there’s a mix of yes’s and no’s (but a lot of no’s). He then says it's a newer event in Japan but it’s been a tradition in other countries for centuries. Chat then says, when they think of summer in Japan, they think of fireworks. Someone then mentions “Tamaya!” (Which is what Japanese people say when there’s fireworks in the sky) and Temma is quickly taken back, asking why and how do we know Tamaya (It was taught to Tempus during the Minecraft stream last year). Many say they learned it from Anime, VN’s, among other things. Someone does ask what it means and Temma explains. (Apparently it’s also a store/Fireworks Maker. That’s pretty neat). He also says that people can say kagiyaa (same thing, different word). Apparently it’s not said as much anymore, but it’s still common in Anime. If you see fireworks in Japan, he doesn’t recommend you say those. You will be outed as an otaku/weeb. Someone in chat says it’s cringe/embarrassing/hazukashii. But Temma corrects it’s not really cringe, but you still should refrain from saying it out loud in public.
After that, he says he’ll take more questions and will pick the first one he sees. That ends up being what tips (advice he has) for visiting Japan. He says that the roads in Japan are much narrower and smaller than ones in America (but they’re still well maintained!). He thinks they’re beautiful. Someone then says how their friend is going to Japan for the first time and asks what foods they should try (Temma says sushi, ramen, nagi, and gyudon). And then talks about a channel (he forgot the name) that shows foreigners eating Japanese food for the first time. He mentions sukiyaki, which is basically grilled meat and veggies, and how as a child he would get sukiyaki as a treat every time he did well on a test (and if there’s one thing to know about Temma, it’s that he did really, really well in school). He then lists what he would get (as you guessed, meat). And then says people also go there for anniversary dinners. So it’s pretty special. Then he’s asked if he will treat himself to sukiyaki if he does well in his English classes, and after the suggestion, he decides to do so.
And that’s where he ends for now!
See you next time Otsukishiiiiii!

KONKISHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
IT'S 2:30 AM AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS? IT'S TIME FOR ENGLISH STUDY TIME LESGOOOO! He starts by saying that there is no break today, he will stream. (He tweeted that the day doesn’t end until you sleep so in his mind, it’s still September 7th. This is reflected in the document title.) And then proceeds to greet himself in English and Japanese. He clarifies that this is a midnight English chatting stream. He has not slept. Then tells us that he has English lessons at 10AM (Remember that it is currently 2:28 AM). He needs to sleep, but he also wants to talk with us (!!!!!!!!!) so because of that, he will talk instead. He’s using the caffeine in his black coffee to stay awake for this.
Moving on, he tells us his schedule for tomorrow (or Today): 10 AM-English Lessons, 1PM-Meeting, 2:30PM (He reads this as 2.5PM but the meaning is there) Gym/Training (This eventually does get canceled because there’s a bad typhoon hitting Japan so he ended up playing Terraria instead). 4PM-8PM He has free time! He didn’t mention any plans, just that he’s free. Afterwards, he laments on his ramen-less life. He’s on a budget to only eat 500 yen worth for each meal, which equals to about 1500 yen a day (This translates to 3 USD per meal and about 9 USD a day. He mentions later that his preferred ramen costs about 7-9 USD so it’s far out of his budget for the day, this causes him mild distress as he really wants his ramen). Chat does ask him how he eats so little and he explains he goes to places with really cheap prices and equally good food. He breaks down the costs of food a little bit starting with beef bowls, which are very very cheap and says he likes Matsuya and Sukiya (which are the names of the places he gets the food from). He then explains the sizes of rice and the costs (It’s only 2 dollars at Matsuya). And that’s why he prefers going to Matsuya for them, and he usually gets the large size. A chat message mentions Tenya (another restaurant) and Temma says he loves the place, but because there’s none near his home, he doesn’t get to eat there often.
Another message mentions how Tenya is really good (This person happens to be overseas) and Temma wonders if Tenya is everywhere (global). Then asks if it’s true (It’s not). Someone eventually asks what Tenya is and he responds saying its a Tempura shop in Japan (He then pulls up a picture of said Tempura). A bowl is about 3.50 and it’s very delicious. He then reiterates how he really wants Tendon (the name of the tempura bowl) but again, Tenya isn’t close by.
Suddenly, he asks us if we know what the Navy is. (The Navy is basically the US Sea Guards) He then asks if he can talk about his English Teacher, and then gets into how the guy was an ex-Navy who eventually retired to be with his wife and kids (Before, he was only able to see them every six months). Afterwards, he became a security guard and eventually became an English Teacher. Temma then describes him as a 190 cm (says meters at first and when pointed out he says it sounds like a monster haha) tall man who is just incredibly strong.
(Brief interruption to someone asking where to eat and Temma gives his answers for Tenya and Matsuya)
He also drops the fact that his teacher is about 60 years old and still going strong with activities (such as hiking, but no muscle training) Temma calls him a cute and kind uncle.
Someone asks if Temma likes hiking-Temma immediately answers no. He does not like sports. But he wants to be a nice guy and knight so he has to do his muscle training haha. Someone then asks if he likes exercising and mentions tomorrow he has to go to the gym to work out his shoulders. Then gets into the great world of katamelon (where someone has incredibly broad and strong shoulders (kata), the person is almost shaped like a Dorito. The shoulders also look like melons so that’s where the melon part comes from). He wants to be the katamelon guy hahaha. It’s quite a long road, but he will persist.
He then asks if anyone has any questions, the first one he reads asks if he likes socks. Initially taken back by this, he first says he’s indifferent to socks. But then says he doesn’t wear socks at home so maybe he hates socks haha. Chat says they can’t sleep with socks on and Temma shares the sentiment. Another question asks what’s Temma’s motto (which he initially thinks as a catchphrase but it’s entirely different from a motto.) He then says it’s a difficult question that he can’t really answer. So instead he asks if we know なんとかなる, then explains it means “It will be okay”. He eventually claims this as his motto. Then he asks if chat has their own mottos to share. In the midst of it, someone casually drops Bettel’s glorious “God is Dead. You Aren’t. Keep Running.” and Temma manages to read it out loud much to the horror of chat. He’s amazed that Bettel made that quote. And then immediately translates it to Japanese, much to the horror of chat, again.
He then says he has some quotes from some famous old people.
But first he will go to the bathroom.
A moment later,
He returns.
Then asks if we know the following quote, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” Many recognize it. He explains it as “Today is the best day to start something new.”
The next quote, “What you can do someday, you can do today.” In not Temma words, JUST DO IT. He also likes this phrase.
The next one, “If life is short, you will also see fewer tears.” Which can be taken in…different directions. He says it’s a sad, but deep phrase.
Next quote, “We are born crying, live complaining, and die in disappointment.” This is… scary. And Temma is slightly taken back by saying “Oh my gah”. The quote is from the UK, which raises some concerns in chat about the wellbeing of the British.
“Dig deep where you stand, and surely a spring will flow.” Temma thinks it has a deep meaning (pun was probably intended there). Someone asks if it’s a Japanese phrase and Temma answers it’s a positive Japanese phrase. He doesn’t understand it but he thinks it’s deep ahaha.
Then he asks how to pronounce “strengthen” as he had a bit of trouble saying it. Eventually gets it down to say the following quote, ‘Love strengthens and weakens a person. While Friendship only strengthens.” Temma firmly believes this is true. Friendship is important. And agrees about what Love does.
He says a little bit more about the last phrase before deciding to end it here so he can sleep.

OHAKISHIIIIIIIII
We return with another Temma English stream!! Today’s stream will be super short because Temma is super busy and this hour is the only free time he has for today. Chat wishes Temma luck on his studies and asks him what he had for breakfast. He answers that he had salmon sashimi and a lonely 160g of rice (;w;) with some natto (which is a very slimy bean dish.) Then he mentions he’s started a calorie deficit at less than 1500 cal a day (It sounds low but I’m sure Temma knows what he’s doing). He uses a smartphone tracking app for this and it’s helped him. Chat then says ‘Healthy Kishi~” and he replies, yes he will be a healthy kishi haha. So he will do his best to be a healthy kishi. He mentions it’s a bit hard for him, but he feels better about his intake being lower than before. Someone asks if he has more energy than before, and he replies yes. He believes the calorie deficit will help him become healthier. Then someone says they wish they could do that too but they have no time. Temma replies it’s okay he’s sure they can do it!
Then someone in chat mentions Onegai Muscle (a popular anime op, and Yurustars covered this song a couple years ago!) And he found it a little funny. After that, chat asks if Temma ever heard of the quote, “You are what you eat.” Temma replies he’s never heard of it before. He then says he’s been drinking 2L of water everyday and he feels better about it. So combined with the 1500 calorie intake and his regular exercise, Temma is feeling pretty good (More more healthy, I will be Perfect Knight-Kishido Temma, 2023) Although, the downside of this lifestyle is that it’s very tiring and he feels a lot sleepier than usual. He went to sleep at 11:30PM yesterday, (Which for Temma standards, is certainly earlier than usual). Chat then comments that the lifestyle does sound tiring and he agrees. Then he asks us if we know what social jet lag is. Most answer they don’t so he starts by explaining jet lag (where when you fly from one timezone to another and the time difference messes up your sleep cycle) and then says that he doesn’t know how to explain social jet lag haha. After a moment of searching, he puts it like this: being so tired that your sleep schedule becomes irregular. So he asks us if we feel social jet lag, plenty of people say yes. He then says some effects are lower quality diet, higher intake of sugar and lower intake of fruits and veggies. Basically, messed up sleep is messed up life. Social jet lag is bad-Kishido Temma, 2023.
On September 28th at 10 AM JST/9 PM EST/6 PM PDT (EST/PDT it’s September 27th), Temma will have a collab with HAKKAAAAAA! No details on what they’ll be doing but please look forward to it!! He mentions that Hakka invited him for the collab and he happily accepted! Then Temma mentions he’s a little afraid (aww) because he can’t speak English that well (LIES) He wants to understand Hakka via chat. Then chat reassures him that he’s doing great with his English. Then someone asks if he knows the phrase “Practice makes perfect.” Temma says no, but he understands it. After, chat says that Hakka also learned English as a second language, so he understands the struggle of learning it. Temma is genuinely surprised and asks what Hakka's first language (It’s Spanish). After being impressed, he says he wants to teach Hakka Japanese so he can be a trilingual language master haha.
Afterwards, someone asks if Temma would want to use his English overseas and what country he would want to visit. Almost immediately, Temma says no. He only wants to use his English to talk with Tempus and chat. He has no intentions of traveling. Someone asks if he just wants to practice with them (chat and Tempus) and he says yes. Then he complains that his room is really hot. Apparently his AC broke down last year, he tried to fix it, but it ended up being way too expensive. So now he has no AC and suffers greatly. Then he talks about new appliances that are expensive and break incredibly easily. He has lost a lot of money from this. And he has no perfectly working stuff (rip). He then says how his house is 20 years old (along with a lot of the stuff in it). But his life is pretty comfy so he feels good. But all his stuff is still broken and he’s sad. Then the chat asks if he’ll buy new appliances in store or online. He answers he usually buys his stuff online because there’s a wide variety of stuff on there. He thinks it’s very convenient. He asks what online shops are popular in America (It’s Amazon). Then he says in Japan it’s Amazon and Rakuten (another online shop that sells various things). He says that Amazon is number 1. Chat then says that a lot of shops do make their own online stores to compete with Amazon and Temma says it’s the same in Japan.
Costco is then mentioned (it’s a really big warehouse store where you can buy in bulk for a super low price, and also has the best hot dogs ever.) Temma then says he’s never been to Costco and really wants to go there. Someone then mentions the hot dogs and he is slightly confused. Temma mentions he likes watching videos of people going to Costco and trying the food there. He is then asked what he would buy at Costco and answers he wants to buy a very big salmon block and juicy chicken. He mentions a muscle youtuber he watches (Hidetada Yamagishi) who goes to Costco often and makes vlogs about the food he buys from there. He pretty much admires Costco ahaha. He then says how Big Hide is actually on the shorter side but is really really big. He also has very big abs, Temma mentions he’s 50 but doesn’t look 50 at all. Someone asks if he wants muscles that large and he answers yes.
Afterward, he mentions his English teacher wants him to practice by reading an English article. So his idea was to pull up the official Hololive English site and read the first article he found. What he finds is HoloCouncil;s 3D Showcase Announcement article. After congratulating Council on their 3D’s, Chat tells him that Council is the unit name (He was initially confused on what Council was, not in terms of people, just the word in general). He goes on to read the first three paragraphs of the article (which honestly repeat itself several times in those paragraphs.)
After some time, Temma realizes his time is running out and he has to go. But before he does, he mentions he’s watched Flayon play Lies of P and really wants to play it too (It was mentioned on Miyabi’s stream a couple days ago that he and Temma do want to do a Lies of P challenge, but neither of them had the game yet. He also mentions the same things about wanting to play with Miyabi. Also, after this stream Temma does pop into Flay’s chat, who is still streaming Lies of P, and says how he wants to play the game as well. This led to Flay giving Temma the game. This tactic was employed by Miyabi the same way the other day and it worked.) After that he said on September 25th, he and Miyabi will do the Minecraft Skyblock challenge. So much to look forward to next week!
