The goal of this project was to see the similarities and differences in technology between the two countries
La Paz, Bolivia & Seoul, South Korea
I never knew that Aymara and Quechua were languages that people spoke here. Was cool to learn about since I've never heard of these languages
While a majority of those in Seoul, South Korea, has access to the internet, those in rural areas of La Paz, Bolivia, have limited access, making it hard to receive an education.
I chose Seoul, South Korea because I heard that they are one of the top countries when it comes to technology. I've also had an interest in some of their media, so I wanted to know what the country offered in terms of their technology.
The population of Seoul, South Korea is estimated to be 10 million as of 2024.
The demographic of Seoul is homogenous, with those living here being mainly Korean. There is a small population of Japanese and Chinese people living in Seoul.
The official language of South Korea is Korean
Seoul has four seasons, with summer being warm and humid, which increases the chance of typhoons. Winters are cold and dry.
South Korea is a leader in global information and communication technology, being the home of the top produces of electronics such as Samsung and LG electronics. The country is also known to have the world’s fastest internet speeds and aims to keep its reputation as the top producer of information and communication technology by investing in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cyber security. About 94% of the country has access to the internet
While the city as a whole has access to internet, there is a small population that has limited access to technology; the older population. The older population is not as connected to technology as the younger population since they are not senior-friendly, and they aren’t educated in technology. Many cannot use technology due to their vision and hearing loss.
