You must be a Kirkwood student, faculty, or staff with a valid k-number and Kirkwood email to take a MOS certification exam.
The MOS certifications are offered on the Cedar Rapids Campus (2055 Cedar Hall) OR virtually from your own device.
The MOS certification offered include Word Associate, Word Expert, Access Expert, Excel Associate, Excel Expert, PowerPoint Associate, PowerPoint Expert.
There is no charge to take the exam however, each certification exam may only be attempted five times and you must wait at least 48-hours between each attempt.
You need to create two accounts to take a MOS certification exam. The GMetrix account is a practice software designed to assist you in preparing for each of the certification exams. The Certiport account is needed for taking the Certification exam.
Go to "GMetrix.com"
Click the "Login" Link
Click "No Account? Sign up Here"
Complete the form and create an account. It is recommended that you use the same username and password for GMetrix as you do Certiport.
Click the Download Tab to download the recommended Desktop version of GMetrix. Even though there is a Mac option for download, it rarely works properly. A PC running Windows 10 or higher is recommended to prepare for the exam. You will test in a PC environment running Windows 10.
If you are not setting this software up as part of a course send Samantha Hench an email (samantha.hench@kirkwood.edu) requesting a GMetrix access code. Without this code you will not have access to the full set of practice exams and training materials. If you are setting this software up as part of a course, you will receive the GMetrix access code from your instructor.

Click the "Login/Register" Link
Click "Register" under the New Users section
Complete the form and create an account. It is recommended that you use the same username and password for GMetrix as you do Certiport.
After completing and earning the MOS certifications this is the site you will go to see your official score sheet and print out your official certificates.
