The Test-Out for Information Computing is available at the Cedar Rapids Test Center (2055 Cedar Hall).
This test may be taken anytime prior to the week before classes begin for a given semester.
There is no charge to take the exam however, it may only be attempted one time and you are not eligible to test-out exam if you have previously taken CIS-121.
You must score an average of 75% on the combined sections to test out of the class.
There is only one attempt on the exam. It cannot be retaken.
If you test out of the class, you will receive a T grade (not an A, B, or C).
The exam has two sections, the first part tests general computer knowledge related to Management Information Systems. The second part tests your knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
The exam results take up to 2 weeks to process.
It is recommended that you complete the study guides before attempting the test-out exam.
