What has the SGA accomplished this year?
EVENTS:
From October 11 - 22, the SGA organized a Toiletry Drive. We managed to collect almost 200 different toiletries that would later be donated to the Silver Spring Christian Reformed Church, which serves 600 families in need each year.
From December 13 - 17, the SGA held a Winter Spirit Week, including days such as Santa Hat day, Pajama Day, and even an exciting Pie in the Face raffle, where students had the opportunity to pie a teacher or administrator in the face.
In support of anti-bullying, the SGA organized a day wear all students were encouraged to come to school wearing blue on October 29th.
For valentine's day the SGA put up a fundraiser called Candy Grams. Students could buy a candy with a note for anyone. The SGA raised lots of many and many enjoyed the fundraiser!!!
ADVOCACY:
For the past three months, the SGA, especially your SGA President, has been fighting to allow phones during lunch. Currently, phones are NOT allowed during the school day, but the SGA won't give up.
The SGA has been trying to come up with a plan to have a better dress code. Lots of people have been getting dress coded for no reason. Especially the girls in our school. The SGA is trying to come up with a solution to this problem. The SGA wont give up.
