Most of the Bible comics are also included in the Kingstone Bible Trilogy hard covers. Some of the comics have addendum stories as well as new art. The individual Bible comics are great for gifts, small groups and collections.

Graphic novelizations of the Bible are becoming more popular than ever. One of the companies leading this trend is Kingstone Comics. Kingstone Comics produces comics and graphic novels, and they even produce the complete Bible in three large volumes. In this review I take a look at a single comic book simply titled Noah.

In my early teenage years I really took a liking to comic books. So when I saw these I had to to get them. The artwork in them is fantastic. Really recommend these if you're a believer who is also a fan of comics.

Our readership is very eclectic! Both boys and girls read comics in equal measure these days. We have also seen a lot of interest from men in the 20-40 age range, middle and high schoolers, grandparents buying for middle aged kids, those with reading issues and sensory issues (we have many deaf who purchase). As a pastor and a publisher my eye is on the one out there that does not understand the Bible and seeks to know spiritual truth.

Ayris is the publisher of Kingstone Comics, the largest Christian comics publisher worldwide, known for publishing the most graphic comic adaptation ever, about the life of Jesus Christ. The trilogy is called "The Kingstone Bible." The company's graphic novels are available in over 30 languages.

There are individual Bible comics which are combined into a 3-volume set with each volume containing over 600 pages of illustrations. Employing over 40 artists, many formerly of DC and Marvel, and using various translations, the Kingstone Bible at times quotes directly from Scripture while at other times adding dialogue appropriate to the context. Numerous Bible scholars and pastors read the Kingstone Bible, declaring it to be an accurate representation of Scripture. Kingstone also features a question and answer series, and a faith series with titles like The Antichrist, Eternity, and Hell. Kingstone also holds a special place for prisoners and juvenile offenders and as such, offers lower prices for their books to these populations. More information can be found on their website.

1990 was also the year Butler's studio formed a division called Aida-Zee Comics & Magazines and began to produce Christian comics. The studio's one-shot, Christian color comic Aida-Zee (1990) featured writers and artists including Dick Ayers, Murphy Anderson, Gaylord DuBois, Nestor Redondo, and Kathleen Webb.[10] It contained the last published comic-book work by Golden Age comics professional Jay Disbrow, who inked, colored and lettered the five-page story "Alien Operation".[10][11] The studio also produced the black=and-white one-shot Paro-Dee for publisher Entity-Parody in 1993,[12] and the 3-D one-shot Behold 3-D in 1996, for the UK's Edge Publishing.[13]

Butler organized the first two Christian comics panels ever held at the San Diego Comic-Con in 1992 and 1995, with Nestor Redondo, Stan Lynde, and Kathleen Webb participating. Later Butler took part the Spirituality in Comics panel with Marv Wolfman at Supanova 2007 in Australia,[14] where Butler was a Featured Comic Book Guest along with Stan Lee and others.[15]

Butler went on to found COMIX35, nonprofit comics-training ministry and consulting company.[17] The company sponsored the First International Christian Comics Training Conference held in Tagaytay, the Philippines, in January 1996.[citation needed]

In the mid-2000s Butler, briefly re-opened his own sole proprietorship, The Nate Butler Company, to produce comics for ministries. He co-scripted and art directed a graphic novel about Brother Yun entitled Yun: The Illustrated Story of the Heavenly Man for Lion Hudson with black-and-white tonal artwork supplied by former DC Comics artist Rico Rival and Joel Chua. He also produced The Truth For Youth Bible comics for Revival Fires Ministries and the George South wrestling tracts. Then that company was closed.

Butler organized the first International Christian Comics Competition (ICCC) in 2005.[33] The winner in the professional division was Brazilian Sergio Cariello. The amateur winner was Jos Carlos Gutirrez.[34] The ICCC2 was held in 2007[35] and was won by American comics artist Kevin Dzuban.

In 2006, Butler partnered with Australian cartoonist and filmmaker Graham Wade and animator Phil Watson to hold a second comics seminar in Sydney, Australia.[37] The next year Butler and Watson held the First Christian Animation Conference in Sydney.[38] In addition to Butler and Watson, the instructors included former Disney animators Matt Baker, Rene Pfitzner, and Ian Harrowell, the Supervising Animator for Simba in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride.

Butler has taught cartooning classes in prisons[43] and has worked to develop inmate-produced comics.[44] He and COMIX35 are members of Operation Starting Line (OSL),[45] which is part of Chuck Colson's Prison Fellowship, and the Coalition of Prison Evangelists (COPE).[46]

Kingstone is teaming with larger animation partners on a complete animation of the Kingstone Bible, but the company is currently releasing their own motion comics (digital versions of comics enhanced with sound and special effects) to help explain Christianity and the Bible.

Kingstone motion comics can also be found online through major portals such as ChristianCinema.com, Vimeo, Amazon Video, and of course KingstoneDigital.com. Print products of the Kingstone Comics can be found in stores, Amazon, and online at Kingstone.co.

Art Ayris: The overarching factor was descending Bible reading among Millennials with an even deeper descent among teens. And on the other hand, the rapidly (and continued) growing popularity of comics and the whole graphic novel genre. It would prick my soul to walk into Books-a-Million on Friday nights and see the kids just sprawled out on the floor reading some pretty not-so-spiritually-healthy materials.

Art Ayris: It took us a little over seven years and about 45 illustrators. My watermark for inclusion into the artist line-up was whether or not they had Marvel or DC experience. A number of Christian artists began contacting us when they heard we were doing this graphic version, but the cut for me had to be whether or not they had previously excelled in the comics industry. Probably about 95% of the artists all had major comic house experience before joining our team.

Kingstone Comics distributes through major retailers such as Walmart and through CBA Christian book stores. Kingstone also leads in digital delivery of its comics via Kindle and graphic novels through top comic apps such as ComiXology, iVerse Media as well as the Kingstone Comics app on iPads and Droid devices.
