Names matter. Why are we a kingdom church?
The word kingdom means the reign or dominion of a sovereign; it is the domain of the
King. This is the realm where Jesus is the supreme master and ruler. (Ps. 2:6, Matt.4:17)
The Kingdom involves the King; there is no kingdom without the King of the Kingdom.
(I Tim. 6:15)
We want to be identified as a “kingdom church” because the Kingdom of God is a
kingdom of power! 1 Corinthians 4:20 states “For the kingdom of God is not a matter
of talk but of power.” NIV
In the Kingdom of God, we exercise the dominion and authority of the King. We’ve been
given power and authority over sin, over sickness, over unclean spirits, and the works of
darkness, and over all the earth.
The Kingdom of God is a spiritual and physical community that can be expressed in five
dimensions.
1) The Kingdom has subjects. (Matthew 13:38, Romans 8:16-17)
2) The Kingdom is a reference to the Church. (Mathew 16, 18-19, I Timothy 3:5)
3) The Kingdom prevails over satan’s kingdom. (Matthew 12:28, Luke 11:20)
4) The Kingdom identities God’s people as priest and kings. (1 Peter 2:9, Rev.1:5)
5) The Kingdom is present and future. (Luke 17:21, Revelation 21:3)
Ecclesiastic Structure:
We are established ecclesiastically after the pattern of the New Testament Church as it
is outlined in the following scriptures. (Ephesians.4:11, Acts 2:42, Phililppians1:1)
The primary focus of the ministry is to share a relevant gospel to a 21st century
generation, in word and in deed.
We want to cultivate an environment of acceptance in the local church where the
outsiders, the marginalized, broken and rejected people can be changed by the
transcending power of love and grace.
Our mission is to teach, train and give practical insights to people through the
scriptures, to demonstrate authentic Christianity to the world. KDC has a deeper life
vision. We want people to discover God’s dream for their lives. We’re committed to
helping people identify their spiritual gifts, to find their purpose and to fulfil their destiny.
We seek to develop passionate, prepared, and productive leaders, whose one single
focus is to know Christ and make Him known to all men.
In our short, brief history as a church, we’ve experienced measurable success in
implementing this vision.
Kingdom
Matthew 6:33. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven"
Dream
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” The Bible is full of God's dreams for us so let's explore a little of this idea of VISION.
Center
1 John 1:7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. The Bible speaks on the importance of building a strong community. We seek to be a Community Center in the Twin Twiers/Elmira, NY area.
Psalm 46 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The reality is that there will be difficult times, but God promises to be our refuge. When buildings crumbling and our world is shaken. God has not failed us.
Also known as the Kingdom Refuge and Dream Center.
