Intellectual Freedom Resources
Intellectual freedom is defined by the American Library Association as “the rights of library users to read, seek information, and speak freely as guaranteed by the First Amendment."
Intellectual freedom protects students’ rights to access materials, therefore protecting their rights to learn, create an open worldview, and ultimately become informed, engaged members of society.
