Romans 5:6-8 tells us:
"For while we were still weak, at the right time, Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person - though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die - but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Paul doesn't say that God waited on us to behave better or for us to clean ourselves up in order to love us. The verses say that God showed His love while we were still messing up...while we didn't even understand who God is. God's love saves us!
Jesus died for out sins, but He didn't stay dead. He conquered death and is alive. Jesus died for the sins of all people so that those who choose to put their faith in him and follow him can have peace with God. Because of Jesus, we are rescued. God's love saves us!
God's love Is better that we can imagine. How does that make you feel?
What did Jesus do to save you? How can you respond to that?
Talk about Romans 5:6-8. What does this verse teach you about God? About people? About Jesus?
Pray and thank God for saving us.
