I am the Associate Director of Simulation at Clemson University. I decided to further my education with a DNP in Healthcare Systems Leadership to expand my leadership capabilities, increase my understanding of underserved communities, and develop new insights that will enhance my ability to generate change within the nursing profession.
I serve in various leadership roles in professional organizations surrounding my work as a simulation nurse leader. I enjoy connecting with students through simulation and deliberate practice opportunities to advance their knowledge and skills.
My Career Goals are:
1. Advance Research and Scholarship
Conduct and translate nursing and simulation-based research to generate evidence that improves educational strategies, supports workforce readiness, and addresses critical issues such as nursing shortages and burnout
2. Publish and Disseminate Knowledge
Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences to share innovative approaches in simulation education, experiential learning, and workforce development
3. Excel in Teaching and Mentorship
Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate nursing students using evidence-based pedagogy and INACSL simulation standards, cultivating practice-ready, resilient nurses who are prepared to meet evolving healthcare demands.
4. Expand Simulation Modalities and Experiential Learning
Design and implement cutting-edge simulation modalities, interprofessional learning experiences, and hybrid simulation strategies that reflect real-world healthcare challenges and support workforce transformation.
5. Influence Nursing Policy and Legislation
Expand advocacy efforts by taking an active role in shaping nursing policy and legislation at state and national levels, championing initiatives that strengthen nursing education, workforce development, and professional well-being.
