Teacher leaders are very important because the classroom is where change happens. It is very much like ground zero. Any significant impact on student achievement or school culture begins with us. New initiatives or teaching practices must be filtered through us.
When teachers take on leadership roles by sharing knowledge and collaborating with peers we learn from each other and work together to create lasting change in the school.
This school year has been challenging. Reflection and self regulation have been very important. I'm looking for ways to take care of myself and my students as well as lead in my classroom and on my campus.
It's such an honor to be asked to share my experiences and advice with other science teachers. I'm constantly reflecting on my craft and looking for ways to grow.
