I wrote these notes for the unit in my multivariable calculus class on the directional derivative and gradient. These notes showcase a few key features of my pedagogical approach:

Explain that mathematical objects have meaning beyond symbols and emphasize reasoning skills over applying formulas
Incorporate physical intuition and applications as a central part of mathematical education
Explain concepts from multiple viewpoints (e.g. symbolic, visual, physical) to appeal to a wider range of student learning styles
Emphasize examples and active learning, especially through in-class problem-solving

Sample worksheet

This worksheet consists of problems designed to practice a variety of topics related to 3D geometry: vector algebra, dot and cross product, lines and planes, and projections. The problems are somewhat challenging, but are heavily scaffolded and build upon prior techniques practiced in class.
