What did you learn?

• • We learned the importance of designing technology that supports both children and parents. User-centered design helped us focus on creating features that provide guidance, transparency, and meaningful engagement rather than simply restricting content. 

What was difficult?

• • One of the biggest challenges was balancing child safety with parental control while keeping the interface simple and easy to navigate. Deciding which information to surface without overwhelming users was also challenging. 

How did the design evolve?

• • The design evolved from a basic monitoring app into a more holistic platform that emphasizes awareness, education, and collaboration. Features such as parent levels, personalized recommendations, community forums, and co-watching content were added to encourage active parental involvement. 

What would you do differently next time?

• • Next time, we would conduct more user testing with parents and families, refine the alert system based on parent feedback, and explore ways to make recommendations even more personalized and adaptive to each child's needs.
