The week started Monday morning with a digital stream from Rothaugen and Odda.

Two students from Rothaugen and two students from Odda introduced the different segments, including presentations of the two schools and cities, a look back at what had been done in the project, and the trips to Croatia, Romania and Turkey. We also got to see some cultural segments from both Bergen and Odda.

The six selected students from each school then had a private Google Meet. Here they presented each other and what each school had done in the project.

After lunch, the students watched a movie about plastic pollution and were divided into groups that discussed plastic use and plastic pollution.

The day ended the same way it started; with a live stream from Rothaugen and Odda. Cultural segments from all five schools was a nice way to finish the first day of the last LTT.

One of our goals in this KAPP project is to make a difference. Today we did so. Today students from all the different schools and countries went out to collect garbage in their communities. Through this the young learn that plastic left outside does not disappear. They learn that we have to take care of our waste, or else it will pollute our nature. They learn that they will have to be better than the adults before them. And they learn that in order to make a difference we have to clean up after others and ourselves. In their actions, they clearly said: “Don’t leave anything but your footprints in nature!”

On the conference's third day, we found it important to reflect on what the real problem is. Each school has completed a writing session, using a format called "Skrifta på Veggen" (Writing on the Wall). Our students created several texts about sustainability, plastic and pollution which caused us all to consider our actions towards our great planet. The Writing on the Wall, ends up as a slideshow that will be published in all schools' websites. The show will also run on the wall in the hall of each school. The students have made more than 150 small texts and poems.

“We enjoyed in the process of writing strong eco-messages with as few words as possible. It was interesting to hear how our peers from other countries think. We all want for our voice to be heard more when it comes to plastic pollution,” reported Ivano Rohtek, a 7th grade student.

Thursday was a day when students could enjoy in the performance of gifted young musicians from Rothaugen and Odda. Students prepared for six months for this live broadcast. According to his schedule, teacher Goran Podunavac worked in his other school (Elementary School Drenje), where he watched the concert with students not participating in the project. The pleasant Norwegian music was a good background for their creative work in computer science classes. The live broadcast was followed by a virtual meeting of six students who were supposed to report on the clean-up action in their local community. In line with the given form, in which they wrote down the amount of certain kinds of waste, they informed the partner students of their findings. That way they could see which similar types of waste were found in four countries and conclude that the waste problem is more or less the same everywhere.

On the last day of virtual mobility, prepared meals were shown from other countries, after which the voting took place for the best master chefs of the following specialties: Norwegian salmon pasta, Romanian mamaliga balls, Turkish stuffed eggplant and Baranja stuffed peppers. Afterwards, the students listened to five podcast shows on plastic pollution and talked via videoconference about the guests, their statements and mentioned issues, and the things they learned. Around 500 students with a competitive spirit, through games and entertainment, checked their knowledge by solving the quiz “Say NO to Plastic” and, with the award of certificates, the five-day virtual mobility was officially closed. Of course, all schools were grateful to the Norwegian hosts, who managed to prepare an excellent programme in this unusual period and to crown two and a half years of learning, good cooperation, and friendship exceptionally well. The slogan of the newest Erasmus+ campaign is “We’re Stronger Together”, which the students in the project “Kids Against Plastic Pollution” showed numerous times.
