◉ Introductory Background:
Hello, Khushwant Singh Chauhan a Ph.D. research scholar at the University of Twente, Netherlands in the Department of Thermal and Fluid Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Abhishek Kumar Singh focusing on the development and testing of thermochemical energy storage solutions for heat and power generation using waste heat and renewable energy to attend sustainability. My research interests lies in the field of energy-water nexus, like solar energy, thermal energy storage, thermal management, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), water desalination etc.
Prior to joining Ph.D. program, Khushwant worked with Dell Technologies in R&D Department as a CFD/Thermal Engineer for two and a half years. Khushwant earned the Masters degree in 2023 from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, India, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering under the guidance of Dr. Himanshu Tyagi, focusing on server thermal management. Additionally, a thermal model is developed for membrane distillation during Masters tenure. Khushwant was also a recipient of the SURI program at Arizona State University, USA. In his free time, I enjoys playing sports, solving Rubiks cubes, exploring new places etc.
◉ Research Interests:
Thermochemical Energy Storage, Thermal Management of Electronics, Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD), Thermo-fluids, Heat Transfer, Membrane Distillation, Clean and Sustainable Energy, Solar Energy, Water Desalination and purification.
