I investigate long-duration, high-temperature thermal energy storage using reversible Ca(OH)2/CaO reactions for industrial waste-heat recovery, renewable energy integration, and heat upgrading. My work spans reactive materials, reactor design, coupled transport modeling, and experimental validation.
Research focus
Multiphysics modeling of reactive packed-bed and moving-bed reactor concepts, including heat and mass transfer, reaction kinetics, fluid flow in free and porous media.
Reactor geometry optimization and performance evaluation under hydration and dehydration conditions.
Fabrication and cycling of glass-fiber-reinforced Ca(OH)₂ pellets, and the development of laboratory-to-pilot-scale test systems.
My desalination research focuses on membrane distillation and solar-assisted freshwater production. I develop physics-based analytical and numerical models to predict coupled heat and mass transfer, water flux, and thermodynamic performance under changing operating conditions.
Research focus
Direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) modeling, including temperature polarization, membrane transport, and thermal efficiency.
Effectiveness-NTU and system-level thermodynamic models of solar-driven and hybrid desalination configurations.
Parametric studies and optimization of membrane, flow, and temperature conditions to improve water production and gained output ratio (GOR).
My electronics-cooling work addresses thermal performance and airflow distribution in servers and electronic systems. Drawing on industrial R&D experience, I use CFD and engineering analysis to evaluate cooling architecture, component temperatures, pressure losses, and fan operating conditions.
Research focus
Three-dimensional CFD simulations of server and rack airflow, conjugate heat transfer, and component-level thermal behavior.
Evaluation of fan performance, flow impedance, heat sinks, thermal interfaces, and packaging constraints.
Design comparisons and thermal optimization of compact server form factors and high-power electronic hardware.
