With regards to testing, Rolls-Royce conducted a focused 3-month pilot on a small production facility with limited parts and operations. This allowed detailed data cleanup and process validation before full rollout, involving intensive team effort including weekends.Â
The lesson learned is that running a pilot on a manageable scope reduces risks. Nonetheless a thorough data preparation and process mapping are essential and a dedicated resources and time investment pay off in smoother implementation.
