Unigraphics and Ansys software packages have been used in this work for creating 4 cylinder based Engine block to be simulated with application of two different materials, namely Al and St alloy. However, preparation of the CAD model and its export to Ansys and mesh generation processes took a while.
The goal of the work was to evaluate the scenarios of material deformation, stress distribution etc. in two different materials. While approaching the project, real life conditions such as 4 strokes in the engine have also been sited. Thus, the temperatures and pressures are also different in all of them which is visible from videos (simulations). The values were taken from available sources, papers.
Processing of each video took around a little more an hour.
Additionally, it was not easy to obtain necessary, or in other words, results close to experimental findings available in the open materials. To get those results, the work has been elaborated two times.
Trial A. Some errors and lacking of description are available in these videos.
Trial B - Improvement. 25, 250, 400 and 700oC temperatures are given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cylinder respectively. Following videos contain respective changes in temperatures due to 4 different strokes at a time occurring in them.
