Project 2:Simulation

In this work, we can observe change of different properties of the crankshaft under assessment thanks to thermal treatment process as final operation.

The point of interest though is about two cases of the work:

• Firstly, we imagine that only one side of the crankshaft is fixed and hanged vertically to allow the body to extend freely.
• Secondly, we assume that we fix the part from both ends and see the reaction.

Resultant heat fluxes, stress and strain distributions, deformations and other factors are outlined in the videos themselves.

Creo Parametric V3.0 was used for creating CAD part and Ansys was applied for simulation (CAE) part.

With above mentioned PC configuration, the work's simulation part took around 30 minutes per video.

Note: 800 to 22, given in the videos mean cooling from 800 to 22oC temperatures and vice-versa.
