KFL - Specialists

SPECIALISTS

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

The Specialists consists of 10 different subjects: History, Films & TV, Geography, Lifestyle, Visual Arts, Pop Music, Science, Sports, Performing Arts, Literature.
Every specialists set consists of 50 questions, played in one round of 20 minutes. After 20 minutes expire, host will need about 5 minute to mark answers.
One game of each subject is played each quarter. The total number of games each year is 40 games, 4 games of each subject.
Specialists are held using our two main platforms: Zoom and Open-Quiz. Use these two hyperlinks to familiarize yourself with the basic rules for using these platforms in KFL.
Gold members have access to all 10 specialists quizzes, silver members have access to 5 specialists by their choose. Bronze and non-league members can participate for $3 per game.

3. REGISTRATION

At least one week before the particular specialist quiz, players receive a registration email with basic information.
Every registration email features a link to a Google Form that consists 12 timeslots to choose from: 9am and 7pm GMT/BST every day between Monday-Friday + two slots targeting mainly North American audience: 3am GMT/BST on Tuesday - which is Monday for North American players - and 3am GMT/BST on Thursday - which is Wednesday for North American players.
If a player has chosen a date and after some time wants to change it, they just need to re-fill the form with a new time slot, this would be more than enough.
The confirmation message of registration form features, just in case, the Zoom link the KFL regularly uses for all games.

4. DETERMINING WINNERS

At the end of the calendar year, 10 winners in each subject are determined.
The winner is the player who has the best point total over the three games of the season. If a player has participated in 4 out of 4 games, the worst result is ignored.
If 2 or more players contending for the podium have the same score, then the total of 4 games will be counted. If these players remain tied after that, they are considered to have shared the place.
