3 min Choose one of the Key Themes and form (large) groups around your theme:
Biodiversity
Climate Change
Sustainable Production & Consumption
10 min When you've come together around a theme, analyse the tree diagram. Discuss:
Which concepts are familiar to you, and which aren't?
Which are of special interest to you?
Which concepts fit your final assignment?
5 min In a moment you will look online for explanations of different concepts. First discuss how you want to handle sources. Can you agree on some guidelines? (If you can't, don't worry. Spend a maximum of five minutes on this step.)
2 min Form subgroups of two to four people. Keep in mind:
If you are in the same group for the final assignment, it's probably smart to work together (but you don't have to).
Be open to people who don't have a partner/group present.
10 min All concepts of the tree diagrams are distributed over a set of "frequently asked questions". You can access them through the site menu or here: biodiversity, climate change, sustainable production and consumption. In your subgroup, choose one or two of the questions to answer and use sources to find them.
10 min Report your findings in the large group. Guidelines:
Be open about sources and how you judge the reliability of your answer.
Share your answers to the question.
Share what questions remain.
10 min In your subgroup, focus on what this means for your final assignment.
How does tie into your project?
Can you derive (a proposal for/refinement of) intended learning outcomes?
Can you think of learning activities that fit with these outcomes?
5 min Central wrap-up.
What do you take home? How can this contribute to your teaching practice?
Any suggestions?
