To whom it may concern,
I currently reside in North-Central Washington (Twisp) and recently transitioned from my career in exploration geology to a geospatial information-oriented field. In addition to years of field experience working in geosciences, I recently completed a Graduate Certificate program in Geographic Information Systems from Elmhurst University. Some notable classes completed include Fundamentals of Geospatial Technologies, Remote Sensing Technologies, Principles of Geodatabases, Spatial Analysis & Web Mapping, and Geospatial Programming, where I was introduced to the language of Python.
For over ten years I have been working mostly in remote locations throughout Nevada, Utah, and Alaska as an exploration geologist, honing my skills related to project work. During my career, I gained relevant skills such as GPS navigation, mapping, field data collection, and analysis using GIS. Some recent applications include using drone photogrammetry to map disturbance in project areas and data management in acQuire. In my past project geologist roles, I was required to interact with many different groups to keep the projects running smoothly and on budget. These groups include operations, and contractors, as well as field personnel to determine daily progress of the program. I have performed many aspects of project management throughout my career, which I feel is invaluable in any industry. Some examples include data analysis/management of drill assay results, drill hole planning in ArcGIS, drill rig supervision, and mentoring junior geologists on various projects. Most of this work has been done on a contractual basis within varying project sizes ranging from very large world-class deposits in fly-in fly-out camps to grassroots projects, with little to no assistance. I enjoy this type of work; however, I recently completed my GIS Masters Certificate program and have transitioned into a geospatial career collecting aerial remote sensing survey data and imagery via airplanes and UAV's. My current focus is on collecting data and high resolution imagery from drones to create usable products for many different industries that can utilize this content.
I believe my extensive project-based field experience, in combination with my strong scientific background and current GIS graduate certificate, make me an ideal candidate for your aerial remote sensing needs.
